INTRODUCTION
The term infrastructure in information technology refers to development of the
technology based system within the company in order to deliver effective and efficient
productivity. This study will be based on the establishment of the effective IT infrastructure for
Commonwealth bank which is going to develop a new branch in Sydney. It will help in
understanding a Mixed geographical area in which network will be set up ion order to consume
different cloud services within the enterprise.
Moreover, It will also providing a complete knowledge about identifying the IP address
and subnet masking of the systems used within the building. It will also provide a clear
networking design for the Commonwealth bank Sydney branch. Also in order to store and
manipulate the data on cloud, this study will describe various cloud techniques that supports the
virtualisation. It will also explore Dynamic Scaling concept which supports cloud computing.
MAIN BODY
1. Geographical scope of the network along with network backbone diagram and various
network segments, users and application
The scope of the network is referred to its geographical size and area which helps in
describing the actual size and scope up-to which the network will be utilised. In Commonwealth
Bank branch of Sydney, IT manager wants to establish a effective and Efficient network
infrastructure within the firm where 8 floors are established and in each floor there are 30
systems placed which requires interconnectivity with each other as well as the main server of the
company (Andersen and et.al., 2018). In order to establish proper interconnectivity between the
all the systems of the company, LAN networking is developed and then multiple Local area
network are interconnected with a common network that is Campus area network.

A backbone is a part of computer networks that are interconnected with various piece of
network which provides the path for exchanging the information between different LANs and
subnetwork. A backbone can diverse allows diverse network to share the interconnectivity and
exchange of information within same building of Commonwealth Bank of Sydney.
Network segment in a computer networking is the practice of splitting system
2. Develop a logical design
Logical design of the network refers to the IP addressing scheme used within the network
in order to develop a effective network design which provides the easy accessibility to user
(Benitez, Ray and Henseler, 2018). Logical network design involves assessing the needs of the
network and serves as a basis for physical network infrastructure design for Commonwealth
bank Sydney Branch which requires effective networking infrastructure. This design generally
vary according to the demands of the users.
In order to establish a Typical hierarchical LAN network within Commonwealth bank
Sydney branch, IT manager has decided to develop a three hierarchical layered network. As this
is a 8 floor building which consists of 30 network each so it is required to divide the connectivity
between three different layers which allows the easy accessibility and managed data on a
centralised server. Three layer consists of Core layer, distribution layer and core layer.

Core layer: This layer includes the hubs and switches and it aimed at connecting the final user
or client nodes. This helps in connecting the workstations to the network. It serves the gateway to
wide area network.
Distribution layer: It serves as a communication point between access layer and core. This
provides routing, filtering and it also determines the way in which packets can access the core.
Access layer: This layer ensures the proper delivery of the data packets to the desired
destination. It is the final layer of the network architecture.
3. Identifying the IP address along with subnet masks in order to configure the network
IP Address helps in providing the address into desecrate networks. It uses the Transaction
control protocol and Internet protocol for configuring, tracking and hosting the services on
network (Bhardwaj and et.al., 2019). IP address can be represented through binary bits in the
form of 0 and 1. A subnet mask is a 32 or 128 bit number that segments an existing IP addresses
in TCP/IP network. Subnet mask are used to identify the network address for IP address by
performing the Bitwise AND operation on the net mask. It mainly defines the range of IP
addresses available within a network. Subnet masks are expressed by dot-decimal notation like
an address

4. Two organization which provides cloud services for hosting
Email and web servers are A web hosting service is a type of internal hosting service that
allows individual and organization to make their website accessible. Web server often come as a
part of a larger package of internet and intranet related programs for serving Emails an
downloading requests for file transfer protocol (Li and et.al., 2018). Cloud computing within
Commonwealth bank is on-demand availability of the computer system resources which includes
the data storage, computing power via internet without the direct active management by the user.
Web hosting involves website files being stored on one or more servers, computers etc. Such
cloud services are provided by the companies which are called as a service providers. Two cloud
service provider companies are described below:
AWS
Amazon web Services is termed as a creative cloud computing service provider company.
This company provides the high customizable cloud services to Commonwealth Bank and helps
the organization in maintaining the secured information in the form of cloud based infrastructure.
This creative cloud computing service provider also provides free trial and also supports various
customer service issues in order to provide the effective and efficient cloud computing services.
Amazon Web service is a cloud based program for building business solutions using the
integrated web services. AWS offers an extensive range of Infrastructure-as-a-service, Platform-

as-a-service etc. It mainly includes the Elastic cloud compute (EC2), Elastic Beanstalk, simple
storage services (S3) and Rationale database service (RDS).
Moreover it also offers the extensive admin controls available through the secure web
client. Users can access a number of features which includes encryption key and auditing. AWS
lets the Common wealth bank to customize the infrastructure requirements of the company. It
allows the users to access EC2 Web services which ensures the easy accessibility and permission
for required servers within the enterprise. AWS also offers a free subscription for 12 months tier
which allows the customer to either continue the subscription via paid services or they may
cancel the AWS subscription (Liu and et.al., 2018). It also avails three different types of models
such as 'Pay as you go', 'save when you reserve' and 'pay less using more'. In order to get more
information about these different types of models, users are allowed for the customer service
directly. This company has established itself as a top cloud computing market. AWS provides
various different kinds of services to the customers and such services are as follows:
Compute: Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) provides virtual servers which are called as
instances. Large number of instances are provided by EC2 which vary according to the sizes and
capacities. It also offers auto-scaling tool for dynamic scale capacity in order to maintain the
instance health and performance.
Storage: S3 provides scalable object space for data backups, archival and analytics which allows
the storage of data and files in S3 objects. Through its infrequent access storage tier or use os
amazon glacier for a long term cold storage, Commonwealth bank saves the money. Although,
AWS storage Gateway to enable on-premises apps to access cloud data.

Database, data management: AWS manage the database through its Amazon relational database
services which provides the large variety of options such as oracle, SQL server, Oracle, MYSQL
etc. Also it allows the customers to use Amazon Elastic cache and DynamoDB Accelerator
which ensures the cached memory for real-time applications (van Renesse and et.al., 2018). Also
Amazon red shift offers a data warehouse, which makes it easier for data analyst to perform
intelligence tasks.
Networking: An Amazon Private Cloud (VPC) gives an administrator control over a virtual
network to use an isolated section for AWS cloud. It allows tsupported by cloud computinghe
admin to balance the network traffic with AWS load balancing tool.
Security governance: It provides the series of cloud security to customers in order to protect the
data and information from unauthorised users. The cloud provider has established a tool which
allows potential security access risk. Software and hardware based encryption is used to protect
the data against DDOS attacks.
Big data analytics: Amazon Elastic MapReduce offers a Hadoop framework to process the large
amount of data. AWS Glue is a service that handles extract, transform and load jobs, while
ElasticSearch Service enables a team to perform application monitoring, log analysis and other
tasks.
AI: Aws provides Deep learnining AIMS which enables the developers to create and train the
custom AI model with cluster of GPUs or compute optimised instances. Also Alexa Skills Kit
developed through Amazon web services allows the developers to build Voice-based apps for
echo devices.
Mobile development: The AWS Mobile Hub offers a collection of tools and services for
developers. AWS Mobile SDK offers code samples and libraries.
Google cloud platform
It is a collection of Google's computing resources, made available via services to the
general public as a public cloud offerings. GCP is mainly hosted on the same underlying
infrastructure that google uses internally for end-user products including google Search and you-
tube. GCP also provides Infrastructure as a service, Platform as a service and server-less
computing environments (Yan, Intel Corp, 2019). This company has also announced a App
engine, which allows the users for developing and hosting the web applications in Google-
managed data centres. Along with this, it provides a series of modular cloud services which

includes the computing, data storage, data analytics and machine learning. GCP also allows
customers to enjoy various Android services along with the availability of Chrome OS and
Application programming Interfaces for machine learning.
Compute: It provides the App engine to ensure he Platform-as-a-service in order to deploy the
Java, php, Python, C# etc. It allows function as a service to run event driven code for a specific
functioning.
Storage and Database: Google Cloud platform provides the memory store area and persistent
Disk for computing engine virtual machine.
Networking: It also provides the Virtual private cloud for managing software defined network.
Cloud DNS helps in managing the authoritative DNS services . It also provides Cloud Armor
that ensures the web application firewall to protect the workload from DDOS attacks.
Big data: Google cloud Platform provides the cloud composer, data lab, data studio and cloud
data flow to manage the Scalable, managed enterprise data warehouse for analytics.
Cloud AI: It provides Cloud AutoML, Cloud TPU, Machine learning engine and Google's
machine learning for recruiting ecosystem.

Identity and security: Cloud IAM provides the identity and access management service for
defining the policies based on role based access control (Service Provider, 2018).
5. Analysing the techniques of using service virtualisation
Virtualisation is a structure which segregates a computer resources into manifold
execution environment. These techniques are basically used to generate numerous isolated
partitions on a physical server and such techniques generally vary in many virtual solutions.
Virtualisation mainly comes into practice after Machine/ Hardware manipulation. There are
various different techniques used for service virtualisation that supports the cloud platform. Such
techniques are described below:
Network Virtualisation
It is a method of combining the available resources in a network by splitting the up the
available bandwidth into distinguished levels. Network virtualisation is generally assigned to a
particular server, device or it may remain unassigned completely (van Renesse and et.al., 2018).
It reduces the network complexities by separating it into different parts which are easy to
manage.

Storage Virtualisation
It allows the users to acquire the storage space for several interconnected storage device
into a simulated single storage device which is controlled by one single command console. It
mainly allows storage area network for users and also provides the data manipulation on cloud
for tracking backups.
Server Virtualisation
This technique is used for masking of the server resources which simulates the physical
server by changing the number, identity and Processor and OS etc. it ensures the user to for the
easy accessibility of the complexed server resources. It provides the resources for sharing and

Data vitalisation
This technique is abstracting the technical details usually used in the data management. It
helps in accessing the data via Location, or format.
Desktop Virtualisation
This technique enables the user to to emulate a workstation load rather then a availability
of a server. It allows the users to access the desktop remotely from from anywhere. It provides
more secure access for the functioning of the data centre server.
6. The cloud computing which supports dynamic scaling
Dynamic scaling of web application is a virtualised cloud computing environment which
allows the users to access the resource on demand. Dynamic scaling in the cloud platform is the
ability for the software and services to grow with the business. Scalability is a critical to the
success of Commonwealth bank which will establish a new branch at Sydney. Dynamic scaling
can be referred as a services that are performed in the cloud platform which provides the
functioning of the Platform-as-a-service, Software-as-a-service and Business process-as-a-
service.
In addition to this, Dynamic cloud allows the business to be more agile which ensures the
manipulation of the resources according to the requirements. A key benefit of Cloud computing
is the ability to add and remove the capacity according to the requirements (van Renesse and
et.al., 2018). Being able to remove and add the capacity to the storage helps in reducing the total
cost of ownership for certain types of application. However, some applications cloud computing
is one of the economically feasible solution to the platform.

CONCLUSION
From the above study, it can be concluded that IT infrastructure within the organization
helps in increasing the overall performance and efficiency of the business. This study will
develop a complete understanding about employment of Cloud based technology within the
Commonwealth organization. It has provided a logical design for the networking infrastructure
of the new branch of Commonwealth Bank and geographical area in which the networking
infrastructure has been established has also been discussed.
Furthermore, The report has also provided cloud service providers which were used for
manipulating and storage purpose while developing a network infrastructure for Commonwealth
bank new branch at Sydney. It has also provided different techniques which has been supported
by cloud computing and Virtualisation. This document has discovered the knowledge about the
concept of dynamic scaling which is supported by cloud computing.
