INTRODUCTION
Information technology is the use of computer system for various different types of
activities such as – process data, store it, create it and exchanging it with others. IT is becoming a
necessity and businesses are getting depended on it as it is an efficient mode for doing different
types of activities that were before done manually where more personnel were required, time
taken was more and the accuracy was also less than that of the IT system. The area usage of IT is
not only limited to the business entities but also it is being used in school, colleges and even
households (Zhou and et.al., 2019). IT has also enhanced the level of teaching through it as it
makes the interaction between the teacher and student effective, smart teaching helps making the
students understand better and focusing on a large number of students together. The following
report is based on analysing the problems that were faced by London School of Science and
Technology in using IT so that it can solve them and gain a competitive advantage in the market.
MAIN BODY
Clarifying the client and analysing the problems faced by them :
London School of Science and Technology is a well renowned university which has
various branches built in the country. The university is mastered in the field of science and
internet technology based studies. There is a dream for some students to get admission in the
university and believe that they will live a successful life if they gets their degrees completed
from this university. Being a great college, it needs to rapidly improve and solve the problem it is
facing to maintain its goodwill and market captured. It focuses on the overall development of its
students including their personality and advanced knowledge in their field.
However it has been facing certain issues in the field of technology in the near past that has been
negatively effecting its goodwill and students enrolled in the university. Being a field of
technology that gets updated rapidly it needs continuos changes and advancements (Lu, 2018).
But the university was not focusing much on getting updated, adopting the changes and being
rigid due to its fame. But now it has been facing the outcomes and needs to find best solutions as
fast as possible. There are different barriers for the University to enter in the new digital market.
The problems of latest and effective digital communication is also a problem for it that is highly
effecting it as it needs effective communication to connect with the enrolled students, studetns
seeking for admission, guardians, staff and other some other work related people. Therse

problems were mainly highlighted and effected the university in the time of Covid19 as the study
was shifted from offline to online.
Critically analysing and presenting important areas associated with the problem :
LSST being a university also works In a business environment that included many
different factors that have a power to effect its number of admission that will directly impact the
revenue generations and goodwill in the market. Considering its problem of lacking in the area of
IT, following are some external factors that are important and have a influence over it :
Competition in the market – The level of competition in the educational industry is
very high. There are various other universities that provide same or related type of
courses that LSST is providing to its students (Jahanshaheefard, 2019). These universities
or colleges try their all best to attract the students of LSST or other students that are
planing to join any university. When LSST will lack in providing quality study to its
students that other institution is providing than it will lead to loss of students. It should do
all their best to achieve and maintain a competitive edge from its competitors to achieve
success.
Target customers The target customers of London university of Science and
Technology will be the students who got passed their schools and are seeking for
graduation or post graduation degrees in the field where the university provides degree
such as in science and computer information. The target base of customers is very
particular and concentrating on other customer of the market is useless as the university is
of no use to them other them the guardian or knowns who want to find universities for
their relatives or friends. To target their base of customers the university can use modes
of advertisements that reach to them directly such as poster outside schools, collecting
data of the students who are going to pass their schooling and connecting their directly
via call or email.
Market – The market of LSST is the people of UK who give a high importance to
quality learning in their lives. They try to provide best education to their kids and the
elder students try to gain best possible education that can promote their successful career
and help them in living happy life (Tudorel and Vintilă, 2020). To gain fullest growth the
university can analyse the courses that are trending in the market or courses / activities

that are would be successful and are according to the needs of the people. According to
the market of LSST, technological upgradation in the modes of study is very essential
and the people give a lot of importance to the value of technology. The people are
becoming depended on it, so LSST should work in upgrading its information technology.
Environmental conditions – These are the conditions of the surrounding environment in
which a business entity operates. The current pandemic of Covid19 is currently the most
important environmental condition that mostly all companies are facing all around the
world. To avoid the spreading of disease lockdown has been implement which do not
allow physical meet of different people. Due to this, online study has been a only option
for the universities, schools and students which promote physical distance. The university
should work in using modes of online teaching that would provide the students with the
feel that they are sitting in the classroom and understand everything (Shabani and
Shahnazi, 2019).
Top three issues that the client is facing :
Issues are the problems that are being faced and are proving to be hindrance in the way of
successful enterprise. From the above analysation of London School of Science and Technology,
the top three problems that it is facing are mentioned in the below points :
Covid 19 pandemic has greatly affected the university negatively and the most important
issue that the company is facing is the coming of unexpected hindrances that can lead to
high losses. Covid 19 leaded to a shift from offline classes to online classes and this shift
was essential for a university to adopt. The company was not prepared for the disease and
its outcomes that leaded to provide a negative effect so the company should be strong
enough and ready for the unexpected hindrances (Agampodi, 2018).
The adoption of communication tool that will be effective for the company is an issue for
it as it was not capable of choosing the best mode of communication that will make the
communication between the students, teachers and staff more effective and efficient.
There are different types of communication tools available in the market, the company
should analyse these communication tools, find the best one for them and implement its
use inside their university premises or for their university work.

It is facing the issue of adopting and using of information technology in its university on
a bigger extend. The analysation and use of latest technology that are useful for a
university are essential for LSST. It is the basic issue that the company is facing and
when it copes up with this issue than it will highly benefit the university.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that information technology has become so
important in the today's world and its need is increasing day by day. People or businesses who
want to achieve growth and success should consider the use of this technology that can help them
to make their operations easy, effective and attaining a competitive advantage in the market.
