Technical Communication
The large online retail company’s executive team had given the task to the former
manager for conducting research on cloud-based systems to assess if such a migration can
resolve the growing data center budget containing salaries, updating of servers, real estate
costs. Hence, the former manager has created an ineffective presentation for communicating
the findings to the company audiences. In this way, this paper will contain a critique
explaining how or why the presentation was not appropriate for the company’s employees to
understand the cloud system. Besides, with the help of this paper, research on cloud-based
alternatives for the API will be conducted while determining recommended technical
communication deliverables (Brooks & Dunn, 2011). In this way, company deliverables in
the most effective way to communicate findings towards each stakeholder audience so they
understand how the cloud system will affect the company will be presented.
Critique
The given PowerPoint presentation is poorly done and hence this paragraph is going
to critique it on the basis of the above-mentioned scenario as well as the company’s intended
audiences (Banks, From professional ethics to ethics in professional life: implications for
learning, teaching and study, 2009). Post analyzing the whole presentation writing, the writer
has identified the PowerPoint on cloud computing, as poorly written, unprofessional and
unethical. The supporting reasons are as follows:
 Although the given presentation was a good attempt to cover the core details of the
cloud computing yet there are so many points of improvement which can be made to
improve it. The professional presentations must have an outline slide or discussion so
that the audience can easily understand which points are going to be discussed related
to the relevant topic. The given PPT is not having an outline slide (Tagbotor,
Adzido, & Agbanu, 2015).
 The PPT is not having any numbering and font style is unprofessional as well. As we
know that Times New Roman, Calibri, and Arial font styles can be used in official
documents and writing hence the writer should have used such font styles.
 There is no supportive evidence provided for the points as well as facts mentioned in
the given presentation. Additionally, data presented by the PPT is not accurate as

well. The rationale for using the cloud platform for the data storage by the online
retail company is also not so strong to justify the reasons why the company should
move to the cloud (Durkheim, 2013).
 In addition to that, there are numerous benefits of moving to the cloud system in terms
of data handling costs and many more. However, the given PPT has not presented the
benefits of the cloud computing in well-structured way which will be unable to attract
the company leaders, employees as well as customers towards moving to the cloud
storage system (Sites Gov, 2019).
 Moreover, statistical data and evidence must have referenced by the credible sources
so that the audience would have paid the attention for moving to the cloud system. For
example, slide 4 is showing data about the reduction in terms of a number of
employees in support staff and data center along with the savings per year. These
savings are not showing any unit of currency as well as not supported by the correct
references.
 The presentation could have made better as there are so many grammatical mistakes,
punctuation mistakes, sentence structure issues, line spacing issues, un-justified text
issues which are clearly making the PPT unprofessional to be presented in front of the
organizational people.
 In general, flow charts, pictures, evidential informatics diagrams, infographic pictures
and other interactive images relevant to the topic are the essentials of any PPT. The
given PPT is not having any of them except monotonously writing the unattractive
points and facts on the cloud computing topic. For example, slides 1-7 are not
containing any flow chart or interactive pictures in relation to the topic.
 The analysis shown by the PPT does not seem critical as well as analytical because
the research results are not appealing in nature. Critical or deep research always
explore both sides of the topic including positive and dark sides of the cloud
computing however the PPT made by the manager is not demonstrating the detailed
facts in the positive and negative side as well (Charlotte, 2014).
 From the reviewing viewpoint, the strategic implementation of the organizational
change must have explained in a proper way by telling the step-by-step process of the
cloud implementation within the company which has been presented in a poor way.
For instance, slide 7 is showing the title ‘what is next?’, and it is not enough to attract
