Introduction
Modern business make use of the information technology services to contribute to easier
management of the business processes. Jack Greig and Daniel Cox are experienced in business
related to running an auto parts business. Both of them are supplier of auto parts in a major
Australian city. The business expansion requires the use of highly dynamic procedures and
processes (Accorsi, Manzini & Maranesi, 2014). The current warehouse management system
however, in incapable of managing the dynamic processes and procedures, which is a significant
problem. To address this problem, a new warehouse management system (WMS) is proposed to
be developed. A system vision document is delivered for identification of the problems, benefits
and the capabilities of the proposed system. The vision document is prepared from the
perspective of a business system analyst.
1. Problem
The expansion of the business poses certain major problems in normal execution of all
the significant business processes. The business is related to the supply of auto parts in a major
city of Australia. Therefore, effective and efficient supply chain management is essential. The
main problem is that the current system fails to meet the increasing demand and lacks the
efficiency of timely order processing (Eroshkin et al. 2017). The increase in the business
demands requires an automated order processing system that can manage all the major
functionalities that are required for the business. Another problem that is related to the existing
system include lack of correct report generation (Yu et al., 2016). Therefore, the business
organization needs to focus on bringing on much needed improvements in the existing WMS so
that the company is able to gain a competitive advantage. Therefore, a new WMS is proposed
