AI Summary
In this task, we are tasked to select an IP address which is unreserved. The selected IP address has to be subnetted using vlsm technique. In vlsm subnetting, all of the masks are never equal. In our subnetting we are informed to subnet the selected IP address and the number of IP addresses should never exceed the required IP addresses by more than 20%. This is the reason in our table able states such as NT, TAS, and NSW appear to have two subnets. When we choose to have one subnet, the allocated IP addresses exceed the required IP addresses by more than 20 percent. After having the above table we are supposed to come up with routing table as below in Appendix A. note that some tables have more than one subnet addresses and subnet masks. The Reason is as mentioned above, that when we use one subnet the number of addresses will exceed the required number of IP addresses by 20%. For the number of addresses for the states which we have more than subnet, we get the sum of the addresses available in each subnet. For example, for NT we have 262142+32766 = 294,908 Next we have the routing tables. We have been tasked to construct the routing tables for routers R1, R2 and R3 as below. Finally we assign IP addresses to the mentioned interfaces.
