INTRODUCTION Business communication is defined as the procedure of sharing information within all the people both inside as well as outside the organisation. It is very important that effective communication is taking place in order to achieve all goals and objectives. There are different types of business communication and these are internal, external, horizontal and so on. The main purpose to manage and maintain good interaction skills in a company is to make improvements in all organisational practices as well as reduction in obstacles(Mattera and et.al, 2021). The below report is based on Jessica Kingsley Publishers Ltd. It is a multinational publishing house located in London. It was founded in the year 1987 by Jessica Kingsley. The organisation deals in publishing books in context with behavioural and social sciences. The report includes business customers, performance, suppliers, benefits, drawbacks, challenges, SWOT analysis, competitive position, issues and evidence of research. MAIN BODY Strengths, weaknesses and challenges being faced Key businesses: - With respect to chosen company, they are associated with certain key businesses. These areradioandtelevisionbroadcasting,softwarepublishers,subscriptionprogramming, telecommunications, video industries and many more(Donthu and et.al, 2020). As a book publishing company, it is necessary for them to promoted their books. Suppliers: - The main supplier of Jessica Kingsley company is UBC Press. They distributes all their books in whole Canada. There are many other suppliers also like by looking at the country United Kingdom, the distribution was being done by Hachetter UK. In Latin America, it was done by James Pap worth. Competitors: - Every business organisation has certain competitors on the basis of which company need to make best strategies in order to achieve all goals and objectives and become successful (García-Orosa,López-García and Vázquez-Herrero,2020). By reviewing their performance, it was being analysed that the company has expanded in the field of higher education and became a source book for several workshops as well as conferences(Manusov and et.al, 2020). The company attained development in the aspect of colleges as well as polytechnics. Strengths of the company: - Jessica Kingsley business organisation main strength was associated with when they enable character toolkit strength cards. It helps children in learning, recognising as well as expressing their character. The cards were involved with a booklet in which different activities was allotted and along with that they provide advices that why they should use those strength cards. Weakness of the company: - Though company has large number of benefits but it also carried certain weakness which was mainly in relation with their marketing and exposure. The organisation was doing high level of marketing but due to such additional things, the may face negative feedback also. The reason behind this is that when more people get to know about books, there are more chances of critics. Challenges: - Jessica Kingsley publishing company has been successful but they also faced many challenges while publishing books. They were not able to develop right promoting strategies due to which positive reviews from the consumers were not received. The company is one of the most recognized brand in comparison with other companies.Weaknesses: -One of the major weakness of JKP was that they didn't focused on growth opportunities in other types of publications.Opportunities: -The most effective opportunity for the company was that they can distribute their books across the globe(Plakolm and Baumgartner, 2020). Besides this, they can also make improvements in their e-publications in order to increase their revenue. Threats: -In the marketplace., there are already large number of competitors which have created best impression among consumers. Also, the industry is taking place beyond traditional edges too. Porter's five forces model: -Threatofsubstituteproducts:-INcontextwithchosencompany,thethreatof substitutes is high because there are many other published books which have achieved growth at high level. It may affect the company in a major way because customers can easily get attracted to their companies.Threat of new entrants: -The threat of new entrants is low because it is not easy for a new established company to do high amount of investment and distribute books across the globe. There are already publishing companies in the market so it would not be easy for them to implement their business.Bargaining power of suppliers: -It is high because there are less suppliers available in the market and company need to take help from them only(Zerfass,Hagelstein and Tench, 2020). Due to which their power gets increased.Bargaining power of customers: -The customers bargaining power is high because each industry is publishing best books so consumers can purchase products from any of them. Due to this, if companies would set up their prices high then it will be a drawback for them. Competitive rivalry:- It is at high range as there are many competitors in the market place. 3
Operational issues faced by the company During the publishing of books, it was being find out that company faced different operational issues especially in context with their costs as well as outcomes(Zou and et.al, 2020). The main reason behind this was their limited supply for resources due to which their efficiency of books got affected. Besides this, the company was only paying attention to particular children books and through this other books were not getting published properly. CONCLUSION From the above report it has been concluded that every company carries some strengths as well as weakness so on the basis of that they need to carry out effective strategies. There are large number of competitors already present in the country so company may face certain challenges associated with it. Besides this, there are several forces that affects the business organisation like bargaining power of suppliers and customers, threat of substitute products, competitive rivalry and many more. 4
