INTRODUCTION Organisational communication is the type of communication channels internal or external used by the company for its effective team working and removing all barriers to communications (Stephenson, 2018). Jet2holidays is United Kingdom tour Operator Company providing various holidays packages worldwide. In this report we will include analysing the purpose and principles behind different forms of organisational communication and identification of the challenges to effectivecommunication.Furthermore,itwilldevelopingstrategiesforovercoming communicationbarriersandevaluatingthecommunicationpracticesatindividualand organisational levels. Organisational theories of Jet2holidays Organisational theories are the ways and methods of resolving misunderstanding due to improper conduct of communication channels which leads to inefficiency in the performances of the employee’s and managers. Jet2holidays is using various organisational theories are as follows: Acceptance theory of authority This theory is proposed by Chester barnard in 1938 and it is used by Jet2holidays because it include the authority of manager and its acceptability by its subordinates. This theory is all about mutual acceptance of both the manager and the subordinates to work according to their needs and company’s goals(Johnston, 2020). This theory helps this company by no conflict due to acceptance by the subordinates and proper authority can be given by the manager about the instructions and roles of the work. Bureaucracy This theoryby German sociologist Max websites in which all set of rules and procedures are clear to each level from higher to lower. Each department should be communicated its individual responsibility and roles so that there is no confusion and misunderstanding in work or the higher level employee’s cannot pressurised the lower level employee’s(Prottas, 2018). The Jet2holidaysiscommunicatingitslowerandhigherlevelemployee’salltheworkand procedures properly for no bureaucracy. Theory X and Y Thisismotivationaltheory designedby McGregorin which TheoryX focuson supervising or controlling the people or employee’s in way to achieve organisational goals whereas theory Y is focusing on rewarding and recognising employee for achieving the set targets(Zeng, 2021). Both the theories work on improving the performances of the employee by motivating them through controlling or rewarding. The Jet2holidays is motivating its employee’s by paying higher compensation for meeting the set targets or the managers of this company are supervising the employee in a way to make them do the work with efficiency. Choiceofwrongcommunication:Thisisthebiggestformofbarriersinevery organisation because choosing the wrong medium can have negative effects on the message that has to be changed and creates misunderstanding in understanding the message(Bakar, 2020). The Jet2holidays is not using all type of languages due it its customers are facing problems in understanding the proper packages and benefits. This company has its operation worldwide and only 1 or 2 languages are not sufficient. Noise: This Company is advertising its products worldwide and the most common barrier that makes the process insufficient is the noise. It occurs due to various physical, semantic. Psychological and physiological factors of the customers due to its operation worldwide. This creates the problem in understanding the message properly and involved in assumptions which are not true. Cultural barriers: It involves misunderstanding in the meaning of information’s due to different cultures and communication style of the people worldwide(Sovacool, 2020). The employee’s with different cultures and languages it becomes difficult to make the advertisement and the information understand properly by each employee. Cultural differences are a big hurdle in understanding each other’s thoughts and feelings. Figure2cultural barriers Emotional barriers: The emotions play a key role in understanding a particular message properlybecauseiftheemployeesaresadorfrustratedintheirpersonallife communicating with them is just waste of time because they will not understand the information behind the message properly and will assume the meaning according to their thoughts and vice versa.
Environmentalbarriers:Thisarethebarrierscausesduetovariousclimate, technological environments of the countries or organisations people of different areas cannot travel in all the seasons people for example people will travel when the snow fall starts, or will go to the beaches in summer times so this creates barriers due to various climate changes. The company is using various technology and some are becoming complex due to noise and behaviour of the employee’s in using those technologies. Decision- making barriers: The Jet2holiodays employees are facing problem due to no involvement of employee’s in decision taking. This makes them feel demotivated towards doing the work efficiently and effectively due to lack of communications to them. Poor leadership: Due to lack of communication between the teams the leaders and employee’s creates conflicts between the employees’. Leaders have to communicate properly the work and the methods of doing it and the employee should communicate all its difficulties to the leaders for better working. Strategies used by Jet2holidays for overcoming these barriers Clarifying ideas before communicating: The manager of Jet2holidays is framing all its messages and information in a way so that it can be understands by the employee’s easily. The manager should use easy languages and grammars and all the meaningful facts to work so that the employees have no doubts related to the messages. Choosing right medium of communication: The manager is using correct way of communicating to the employee’s according to the situations for example the negative feedbacks of the employee should not be discussed in front of everyone because it decrease the confidence of that employee. The manager should punish or warn the employee personally or reward the employee in front of everyone to increase its morale. Effective leadership: The leaders of the Jet2holidays should engage in encouraging and motivating the team members for doing the work efficiently through various strategies like listening to the employee problems carefully and communicating the organisational message in front of everyone so everyone should understand the goals. Understanding each cultural difference: The manager and the top level team of this company first should understand the various cultural differences of each employee and plan services and strategies according to the cultural differences. The manager should create the message in a way so that it can be understood by each employee’s.
Avoiding noise: The best of effective communication is avoiding noise which hinders the meaning of the messages and information shared(Neill, 2018). Jet2holidays’s manager and team should involve in the decision making in which they ask the feedbacks of the information conveyed so that manager get to know that information is understood by everyone. The leaders and managers should engage in those activities like clearing every employee doubts regarding the information’s or goals of the organisations. Involving in the decisions: The manager of Jet2holidays should involve its subordinates in decision making so that they can give their ideas and thoughts in the decisions. Communicating ideas and decisions with everyone to makes it better to understand the proper meaning of the communication by the entire employee’s. Communication practices In Jet2holidays The Jet2holidays is following various communication practices are: Formal communication: This type of communication is used by this Jet2holidays to make it clear in front of everyone the company’s rules and regulations and working conditions that has to be followed by each and every one for proper working. This type of communication is used to send formal and important messages via email or documents (Mheidly, 2020). Figure3formal and informal communication Informal communication: These company employees are communicating with each other in informal ways so that they can exchange their opinions with more understanding. This communication is also called Grapevine communications used to share information fast at each level this is the easiest and fastest way of communication in the organisation via phone, face to face or chats(Albalawi, 2020).

Horizontal communication: This type of communication involves sharing information and thought from one department to another department in which information can be shared easily from cross departments. Vertical communication: This is the method of communication used by Jet2holidays for communicating from top level management to lower level management. CONCLUSION From the above report it has been concluded that organisational communication plays a significant role in the successful working of the Jet2holidays. It uses various theories of communication to overcome the barriers and effective and efficient working in the organisations. Further, it also concluded that this company is facing various communication barriers due to lack of attentions of the employee or semantic barriers, or choosing the wrong medium which prevents the customers for using the services of this company. Lastly, various methods and practicesareusedwhicharehelpfulinpreventingthebarrierswithproperusingof communication channels etc. for making everyone understand the shared information.
