communication are maintained between each member of the team. Accordingly, at the beginning
of each day, I allocate tasks to the team members based on their individual strengths and
weaknesses and capabilities. This is one of my most basic tasks as a store manager – to make the
others aware of their goals. Directing the team members or effective leadership is an integral part
of my job description (McGivern et al., 2015). As the manager of the store of ASDA Beeston
Supermarket, I am supposed to instruct my immediate juniors so that they can move towards a
path to success. I would also have to monitor them and evaluate the progress made. I would do
so using a number of evaluation methods so that I can give feedback at the end of each week.
Their rewards and incentives would be decided based on my feedback.
List of Individuals who are Important for the Job:
As the manager of the store at Beeston Supermarket, I have a number of duties as
mentioned earlier. However, I also require support from a strong team of individuals who would
aid and advise me on important matters. If I were asked to list some individuals who form an
integral aspect of my team, I would have to name Ms. Lim Yung, Mrs. Mary Ann, Mr. George
Brown, Mr. Jeffery Lewis, and Mr. Ashton Bell. My performance in this case would be closely
associated to the support I receive from these people. With adequate support, I would be able to
carry out my tasks properly. These individuals are in the roles of assistant manager, sales
manager, human resource manager, marketing assistant manager, financial manager and public
relations manager. Together, we are all able to implement new strategies or work towards a
common goal.

Recommendation for Enhancing Effectiveness:
In order to ensure success of the organization and effectiveness of operations, I have a
few recommendations in mind. For example, in order to improve employee engagement, I would
like to introduce a new feedback system where the team members can include their feedback in
an anonymous fashion. This can be done using a 360 degree feedback method (Blickle et al.,
2013). Also, information technology would have to be enhanced in order to facilitate smoother
operations. An accurate information system would have to be implemented so that I can provide
adequate support to my juniors and vice versa.
Conclusion:
To conclude, the job of a manager is all encompassing and would include a plethora of
duties and responsibilities. This would also include ensuring the welfare of each individual so as
to promote employee engagement and job satisfaction.
