The aim of this paper is to discuss the importance of Johari Window in pointing out
the personal strength and weaknesses and how one can develop oneself to match the
expectations in the professional fields.
General overview of own Johari:
The two columns of Johari window represent the self and the two rows represent the
groups. My own Johari Window which I have completed with the help of my parents have
shown 14 onto top axis and 15 onto left axis (see Appendix 1).
The first pane as seen in Appendix 2, represents the ‘arena’ that contains things which
I know about myself as well as the others also know (Luft & Ingham, 1961).
The second pane is the ‘blind spot’ that contains things I do not know but the group or
people around me may know about me.
The third pane details the hidden area or ‘façade’ that contains the information that I
know about myself but yen the others do not know (Gamayanto et al., 2019).
The forth one is the ‘unknown’ that contains that contains the information that neither
me nor the group know about me.
My Johari window looks like the following where I need to increase the arena pane so that I
can know what my own strengths are.

Johari Window useful to understanding the sense of self:
Johari Window reveals how the persons know themselves in terms how the individual
works as well as the group works. This process of giving as well as receiving feedback in the
most important aspect of training. Through these, we get to know ourselves as well as how
the other see us are clearly understood (Luft & Ingham, 1961). Some of the very important
factors I have found in my Johari Window is that I am adaptable, energetic, intelligent,
knowledgeable and spontaneous. According to my parents I am dependable, cheerful,
nervous, observant and mature. Some of the factors are in blind spot which I have found
related to my personal experience and I keep these things away from the others.
Why is self-disclosure so challenging:
Self-disclosure is an important factor that helps people to understand their personal
aspects. These information can be evaluative or descriptive as well as can be including the
