INTRODUCTION
It is often believed that justice which is delayed is always justice denied. Initially, when this
was said by the Prime Minister of UK in late 1800s, the main concern of this was with lengthy
delays which is being experienced in the road of laws which required to provide the home rule
for the Irish. Nowadays, this has been utilized widely as the commentary on an influence of the
delays in processing of the criminal matters by courts. In Australia, the delay is the key issue for
the practitioners as well as policy makers that value the effectiveness and efficiency as the
critical outcomes of criminal justice system. This has affected the justice achievement by courts
(Mack & Roach Anleu, (2007)). This report will deal with a discussion on achievement of the
justice is affected different factors, the reasons for the same and discussion on the effect on one
of the vulnerable group that have suffered the disadvantage. Further it will cover why these
factors have affected the group and its effect on achievement of the justice.
MAIN BODY
The main aim of legal system in Australia is to offer justice. It is mainly a process which
involves seeking the equivalence with the fairness, a right to the self-defence for any of the
criminal charge and/ or to offer the basic needs for the weak people such as shelter, accessing
transportation, accessing in the health sector, reunification visa to the relatives and families,
housing, right to vote, veto a ruling, and many others. There has been delay in serving the justice
to the people the criminal justice system in Australia which involves various reasons for the
same. The core issue which is unacceptable delays in judicial system is often side-lined. One of
the main purpose of judicial system is to lower down the time taken between beginning of case
and end of case and also there is quality of the judgement brought which reflects the justice in it
(Brown et al,). The delay may occur at any of the stage of proceeding and one delay may
accumulate to the creation of overall delay in processing of case. The delay may be caused by
different factors to which the court may have control to some of the factors and no control to
some of them which includes the following-
 Case load: There is a growth in the demand for the law court hearing in earlier times and
now this demand in cases trend has continued with many ups and down at the time of
interfering years. the increase in the case load in courts can place an impact on the delays
