Introduction
Internet addiction is a stage where a person cannot control or stop himself from using the
internet. In the following part, the focus is on internet addiction; Excessive use of the internet
creates many problems for users such as internet addiction disorder, headache, and insomnia
or neck pain. Excessive use of the internet affects the relationship with the outer world and
leads users to depression (Gregory, 2019).
In the following discussion, symptoms of internet addiction are they feel depressed when
they are far away from the internet. Excessive use of the internet creates emotional and social
problems. There is another side of internet it enhances users knowledge and communication.
Further discussion on the suggestions to remove the internet addiction, meditation, and
family therapy, and cognitive behavioral treatment can reduce internet addiction.

Internal addiction is increasing day-by-day among global population and users has grown
to nearly 3.8 billion in the global population. A mental disorder among the population of the
global world increased in recent years.
Facts and arguments
The common traits of addictive people are that they feel satisfaction by using the internet
and if when they are not able to use the internet, they feel some kind of anxiety and they keep
thinking about the internet repeatedly. The users ignore the surroundings of his life for the
internet and ready to lose relationship and jobs ( Morelli, 2019).
Symptoms of internet addiction
Addictive internet users lose their control and incapable or unwilling to leave their
phones and computers. They use their phones and computers for hours and result in
continuing or staying online for hours.
An internet user feels depression and anxiety when they are away from the internet
and they kept thinking about their phones and computers.
The significant cause of internet addiction is it creates vision problems to the users or
problem of dry eyes. The other problem of internet addiction generates neck pain and
other health issues (Leung, 2014).
Consequences of online addiction
Mental: Addictive users from the internet may face some mental issues such as suicidal
thoughts, depressing mood, become alcoholic, aggression issues or obsessive-compulsive
illness.
Social problems: Internet abuse raises social issues such as lying to the parents and
friends and disconnects with the outer world or stop socializing with the society especially
with family members.

users as they spend more time on the internet than studying and loss in interest in the
circular activity or other hobbies (Rooij, 2014).

Study on the United States or other countries as if Europe regarding internet abuse states
that 8.2% population are addictive with internet and may increase to 18.5% in several
regions. The kids of 13-17 ages measured as Addictive with the online activities and the
young people of 18-27 ages are engaged in internet abuse to 71%. According to the current
survey that 210 million people are addictive with online sites or social media. Teenagers use
their phones and computer 5 hours a day ( Liu, 2014).
Another side of Internet addiction
The Internet has a positive and negative impact, the positive side is that the internet
makes everything easy and Timesaving. As through internet communication, become easier.
Internet imparts innovation ideas and easy availability of everything. Internet is a great
advantage for the students because it provides study material to them and innovative ideas or
resources to them (Gerhard, 2014).
Suggestions
Meditation is the best method to reduce internet addiction because walking around for 10
minutes can reduce the anxiety of internet addiction. Family therapy can also help the user as
regular interaction with children can reduce anxiety. Parents should check regular history and
internet logs to know what their child suffering on the internet. Cognitive-behavioral
treatment helps in self-control and impulse controller ( Liu, 2014).

Conclusion
Efficient use of the internet should teach to children’s and maintain time limit of usage of
internet. There are two sides of the internet, one is it enhances users knowledge, curiosity,
education, creativity, and communication. Another side is internet consumes excess time and
creates a distraction for the users. There should be an efficient use of the internet rather than
excessive use. The clear rules and standard required to maintain regarding use of the internet.
