Key culture concepts for indigenous worldviews
Culture refers as a “way of life” which human lives by integrating patterns of human
knowledge, beliefs and their behaviour and customer that is offered by society. Indigenous
people keep highly adaptability nature so they demonstrate a rich diversity of culture and
traditional. This community is empowered themselves to organize the course of their own such
as HIV prevention, care, treatment and supports. Indigenous people live their life on the basis of
their values. For example, the seventh-generation principles where these morals states that
decision must imposed based on the current scenario like in which era they live and how their
decision will affect future seventh generation (Lee and et.al., 2018). They believe various
indigenous values supports them to resolve social and ecological issues. Waking softly on earth
is another value which states lives in respectful balance whole life and prior engage with harmful
activities, so they can resolve it. Indigenous is a term of ethnic group which resides in their local
location and practices traditional culture and speaks different language according to place. This
community changes their locality but retains it’s indigenous culture. indigenous people
differentiate themselves by keeping indigenous culture and different identity according to place.
Let’s talk about aboriginal tribes who lives in land in the bush and the dessert area by hunting,
burning undergrowth and develops growth of plants.
Currently more than half aboriginal spends their lives in town or in outskirts in the
dangerous condition. Dreaming kingship relationship to land law is a type of system which
establishes it’s relationship with others and worldviews and prescribes their duties towards other
people. Kingship term is used to explains about people how they relate to one to other different
cultures. Indigenous community lives worldwide along with rich diversity of culture and
language. They change their land as per the situation and shows their relationship with land by
offering their services to get output for their lives. Culture diversity and language are played

additional, indigenous community cultures across the world easy to lead sustainability for several
centuries. There are 370 million indigenous people who spreads into 70 countries worldwide.

which is given by dominant societies where they live. Indigenous Australian are encompassed in
both types people i.e. Aboriginal people and Torre Strait Island people who don’t like to call
themselves indigenous people. Aboriginal people lives on the coast, rainforest and deserts area
so known as salt water people. They speak different language in the Australia. While Torres
strait island people lives in home island to differentiate themselves as outsider from Aboriginal

Socio-economic and political policies, practises and impacts

often abused physically, mentally, emotionally and sexually at the same time their view are
neglected. Name of children were also changed and they were forced to speak their language
and honours their culture. Assimilated into white society was the last hope of indigenous
Australian.
Protection policies: Various protection policies were introduced in order to relocate Indigenous
Australian mission and reserves as most of the children in past were forced to leave their parents.
Or they were not allowed to went into town after 6.00 at night or specific areas without prior
permission. Or people such as indigenous that have not enjoyed same right as other white people
or those who have come from wars are provided protection and certain reserves. So government
has gathered information regarding Aboriginal matters so that protection policy benefit can be
provided to such people.

Self determination: Before 1967 people that were belong to indigenous Australians were not
included in government census but they were finally given right to pay award and equal wages.
Government has decided to introduce such policy that will restore lost power of self
determination in context of political, social and economic (Sibbett and Au, 2018). There are four
development steps are taken by government to reserve right and mission of Indigenous people
such as development of committee that have 41 elected representative. Therefore, two effort
made by government stated that Aboriginal people play an important role in running Aboriginal
affairs. Other two steps of development were evidence for commitment in order to overcome
economic depression faced by Aboriginal.
Ideology that shaped the policies and practices
From the above analysis it can be illustrated that various ideology that shaped policies and
practice of government are as follows such as period of depression, period of assimilation,
referendum, self-determination and self-management. Various law and policies are made by
government for dispossession and assimilation of indigenous people (Agarwal-Rangnath, Dover,
and Henning, 2016). Such as common wealth law that protect white people and oppressed and
aligned indigenous people that means children were forced to leave their parents. Relationship of
European-aboriginal has bad impact on Australia such as social disruption, economic
exploitation, population decline and culture devastating (Ragoonaden and Mueller, 2017).
Australian government implements protection law for indigenous people who are separated by
the government form their parents. Protection law through gives reservation of their children so
that they can spend their life without any discrimination and society also accept them. By the
protection policies can spend their life freely and can earn their livelihood legally like white
peoples. Self-determination policies also provides by Australian government to Aboriginal
people so that can live enjoy their life like white peoples. Government provides right indigenous
people to get awards and get equal wages without any discrimination at workplace. Thus, they
restore power of self-determination in context of political, economical and social by the helps of
different policies.

PART B Cultural competency Recommendation
Culture competency can be defined as the capability of understanding, communicating and
interacting effectively with people across the culture. it contains four features such as aware of
people own world view and develops positive attitudes towards cultural variations, gains
knowledge about different cultural practices and worldviews and multi-cultural skills. It helps to
build relationship with people in different condition. There are five building blocks of cultural
competency such as open attitudes, self-awareness, awareness of other peoples, cultural
knowledge and cultural skills. To work in culture competency profession has a recommendation
to improve culture competency for future workplace.
Get training classes for global citizenship is the best strategy for the future workplace
because it builds cultural knowledge. By the class’s future culturally competency
professionals easy to understand about different cultural practices which they can apply
while working with diverse cultural team within workplace. These class is not supporting
to learn how to deal with working with in enhancing diverse global economy but also
develops understanding to resolve issues over the time for future workplace.
Cross cultural skills class is another strategy which can help for future workplace. by the
class can learn new skills like how to deal with diverse cultural people within workplace.
Even it supports to understand different prospects for diverse cultural people for their job
profession. Based on the attitudes of diverse cultural people can implement profitable
decision which meets their objectives and leads high profitability within workplace as
well.
There are several benefits of cultural competency for profession such as it leads high
understanding between different cultural people at workplace. it enhances respect and leads
mutual understanding among diverse culture people. Cultural competency develops creativity in
problem solving by new aspects, idea and tools (Pelizzon and Kennedy, 2019). It leads high level
growth in profession because studies about diverse cultural people, their beliefs, customers
which are offered by society. By the help of cultural competency easy to understand issues which
can take place while working with cross cultural people in workplace. For example,
miscommunication can take place due to language and cultural barriers. In that situation people
