INTRODUCTION“The purpose of religion is to control yourself, not to criticize others.” Hence, this reportconsist of current issues related to ISLAM in Malaysia which have given rise to Post Islamism.There are huge crisis related to religion which are specifically giving rise to many movementsfrom which Islamic movement is illustrated in this document. Unity in diversity is the beststatement for influencing people in order to have proper functioning of religion. It is not thereligions that divide us but it is the religion that unite us and the belongingness that make us tofeel patriotism towards any type of issue. An essay for development in the field of ISLAMregarding betterment of society has been given in this assignment.MalaysiaMalaysia is located in South-east Asia is a federal constitutional monarchy which havethirteen states and three federal territories with a total landmass of 127720 sq mi. there is apopulation of 30 million people which makes it 44th most populous country in world with 61.3%Islam, 19.8% Buddhism, 9.2% Christianity, 6.3% Hindu and 1.3% Chinese religion. Islam wasinitiated in country by traders who arrived from Arabia, India and China. It was made 'religion ofthe federation' by Supreme Law (Abu-Lughod, (2014)). There is a provision which have been setthat if the royal family or the country members may loose many reliefs if they convert into anyother religion after leaving Islam. This states the hypocrisy of country relating to the importanceof practising the Islamic religion.By taking into consideration these factors it have been clear that the country have a majorpart which have people from Islamic religion and any kind of revolution will impact the countryand its operations in regards to economy. Religious harmony is seen to be priority of the nationand its leaders who are there are particular posts. Whereas Muslims are not allowed to convertinto other religion despite the fact that article 11 in constitution states that there is freedom toeach and every citizen of country to choose their religion. There is a huge impact of religion onpeople as well as nation because Islam is considered as official religion of the country.Various reliefs like subsidies from government to Islamic people, there is a separate lawfor it, assistance to the private Muslim schools etc. The nation is completely based on practise ofIslam by the Malays who are official citizen of Malaysia and are following the religion.
