This study deals with explaining the concept of Knowledge Management and relating it
with the history and present condition. This topic is important for study purpose as there are huge
changes noted in this concept in recent times (Wang et al., 2014). Many things have drastically
changed in knowledge management; it is not about the tools that are made available to the
individuals. Looking back the history of Knowledge management, it showed the fact that some
things still remains constant. Knowledge management can be defined as radical and
fundamentally news ways for creating, retaining, transferring and applying advantage. The new
ways adopted by organization often proves to be disruptive as well as threatening to the
mainstream. The methods, tools and techniques adopted by knowledge management will become
more automated in the near future (Séin-Echaluce et al., 2015). The study highlights the
evolution of the concept Knowledge management, like what it was before and what it means now
from the perspective of business enterprise.
Literature Review
As rightly put forward by Dalkir & Beaulieu (2017), the focal point in the discipline of
administration is to determine as well as plan “laws of behavior” as it depends upon increased
productivity. Recently, productivity refers to as looking the capacity of the managers who can
get access to information or facts and generate smart accomplishment. To that, Knowledge has
become one of the primary factors of production. In this competitive business environment,
productivity actually means ability to learn and adapt towards changing environment. Ability to
learn in an organization had increased as business nowadays are employing workforce in a

business enterprise. Therefore, Knowledge Management refers to a multi-disciplinary approach
that are used for achieving or attaining organizational objectives by making use of the knowledge
in the most appropriate way (Séin-Echaluce et al., 2015).
According to Donate de Pablo (2015), the concept of knowledge management gives rise
to two outcomes. It actually endeavors at the time of developing managerial theory as well as
