EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of anatomical knowledge in holistic
health practice. The concept of the holistic practice lies in the idea that for optimal health, a
person should be physically, mentally, socially and emotionally healed. A holistic practitioner
does what is essential for the ultimate wellbeing of the patient, which may include diet,
mental therapy, exercise, counselling as well as alternative practices such as acupuncture,
massage therapy, chiropractic care and others. Finally, this paper concludes that profound
knowledge of anatomy and physiology is indispensable for any holistic practitioner to
understand the necessary treatments they must administer to a patient ensuring their health
and wellbeing.
