Kotter's Model Changes are very important part of the business or company. It allows a company to adapt to its environment as well as to improve its market position. Bow Valley is a going for acquisition which means it is very important that company should follow the strategies and models in order to smooth proceed of acquisition (King, Hopkins and Cornish, 2017). Kotter's is one the best model to use within the company when they are planning to change the implement any change in the structure of the organisation. With the help of this model, managers and leaders of Bow Valley company can overcome resistance to change within the organisation. There are eight steps in this model which are Increase urgency, Build guiding team, Develop the vision, Empower the action, Create short term wins, Don't let Up and Make Change stick (Libby, 2017). These steps are very helpful for Bow Valley company in proceeding acquisition process. The management of company should follow these steps. They should create a sense of urgency by identifying and highlighting the potential threats which may be crop in the coming time. They should also examine the opportunities that are available after the change. Management should also form a powerful team for guiding by identifying the skilled and knowledgable leader in the company who encourage others in the involvement. They should develop the vision and communicate it to the stakeholders. Management should remove all the barriers which are hindering in the process of change (Kotter's Model,2017). Last and the most important is that management of Bow Valley company should create short term wins as soon as possible in the procedure of change so that employees feel satisfies and it will also minimize the level of resistance. 3
