1LABOR HISTORY OF IMMIGRATION IN CANADA
Introduction
The purpose of the following paper is to describe the issue of the Pakistan immigration in
Canada. The labor conditions in Canada are much suitable for the people of the subcontinent so
many Pakistani people go to Canada to get settled over the years (Tsogas, 2015).
Thesis
The vitality of the migration of the Pakistani people will be argued in this paper.
Primary Context
According to the statistics of the last twenty years from 2001 to 2011, the number of the
Pakistani immigrants has increased largely. It had been noted that around 20.6% of the total
population of Canada were immigrants (Ashutosh, 2014). This indicates that one among five
people were immigrants. The total number of the Pakistani immigrants in Canada is
approximately 202,255. The overall number of the Pakistani immigrants has been increasing and
the Pakistanis are the largest number of foreign groups.
Push factors
The rise of the Pakistani people grew around 98% from the 2001 to 2011
(Canadaimmigrants.com, 2019). The number of the Pakistani immigrants was 79,315 in 2001
and it grew up to 156,860 in the year 2011. The number is still increasing since Canada is a
multicultural country. The Pakistani people have found good working opportunities in Canada so
they want to shift to Canada for better working opportunities since the labor conditions in
Canada is very poor indeed (Tsogas, 2015).
