Quality control is an important parameter in detecting, reducing and correcting
inherent deficiencies in the laboratory internal process before the results are
relapsed. Quality control is essential in assessing the reliability of an essay.
Further quality control is essential in measuring precision and how well the test
is able to reproduce the same result over time under the operating conditions.
Quality control assessment is undertaken at the beginning of the shift. It is
essential for developing this assessment to ensure there is a minimal error of
reporting while no excessive repetitive analysis being done. Properties for quality
control entail same viscosity, turbidity, composition and colour. Further, they
need to be stable for a long period of time.
The above calcium assay figure 1 displays R4s rule indicating a shift in SD greater
than 2 demonstrating a random error while figure 2 display 22s rule
demonstrating systematic errors. The consecutive runs fall outside the 2s limit
values. This alters the accuracy of the assay is not detected what should detect.
Further, the precision aspect as observed in figure 3 demonstrates that the assay
is able to show the same effect of the result, there is accuracy in the manner in
which the assay is producing the results over time. Hence the essay
