AI Summary
This research aims to investigate the impact of using simple and clear words in nurse-client communication to reduce the chance of miscommunication and medication errors. The study will evaluate the relationship between communication practices and patient safety, focusing on the nursing discipline. The research will utilize literature review and focused group surveys as methods of data collection. The findings may have implications for evidence-based practice and improving patient care.

Does cleaning of the shared equipment’s (use in hospital and other health care sector)
after use reduce chances of infection?
1. Establish and define the general research objective.
The healthcare settings and standards are evolving, so is the healthcare practices. The
risk of infection has increased, though there are a number of factors require to be
considered. Human and inhuman contact increases the risk of organism transfer thus
increase the risk of infection or colonise patient and susceptible healthcare workers.
The use of shared equipment’s in the healthcare setting reduces the chance of
infection. The goals associated with this research are carried out based on SMART

activity.
Other discipline associated with this research will be public healthcare to include wide
statistics.
3. In order to gather information about the research topic, you will need to
access credible sources of data and evidence.

4. Evaluate and select a maximum of two (2) methods of gathering the
information you think would be most appropriate to answer your research
question.
Focused on the nature of the research, it can work with two methods of gathering
information to answer the research question.
- Online Survey – It can work with an open-ended or close-ended questionnaire
to collect the perspective of nurses and healthcare staff to formulate
perspective. It will look forward to collecting opinion based on their experience
to shape the research.
- Interviews – Personal/face to face interviews can be selected to be conducted
from the nurses as it will help the research to work with first handed
information informing perspective. I will work with this technique as it will
work first handed information to collect information related to the topic.
5. You are now to gather information for your research topic using a
systematic approach

6. Distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information.

There is a difference between relevant and irrelevant information which are used to
formulate perspective. Relevant information is calculated information based on
expected cost/revenue of the firm, using a different course of action, and work with
qualitative or quantitative information. Meanwhile irrelevant information work on
other information, for example, a cost that does not differ between alternatives, it also
works on other units of information to set a focus. For this research relevant
information will work for the benefit of the research.
7. Prioritise information based on the research objectives.
Katz, M.J. and Gurses, A.P., 2019. Infection prevention in long-term care: re-
evaluating the system using a human factors engineering approach. Infection Control &
Hospital Epidemiology, 40(1), pp.95-99.
Lichtenstein, D. and Alfa, M.J., 2019. Cleaning and Disinfecting Gastrointestinal
Endoscopy Equipment. In Clinical Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (pp. 32-50). Content
Repository Only!
8. Compare and contrast your two (2) sources of information.
The above two articles have been taken for the research of this study; the first articles discuss
long term care to re-evaluate the system using different human factor with an engineering
approach. It will discuss different factors associated with human control to work on infection
control tactics in hospital facilities. Meanwhile, the other article is working with cleaning and
disinfecting gastrointestinal endoscopy equipment. The process of endoscopy is very severe,
thus using shared equipment increases the risk of infection if not sterilised properly.
9. As your findings may be used to establish an evidence-based practice,
identify one (1) impact your conclusions may have, in terms of duty of care
requirements.
The research outlined will help the research to work on alternative ways in which this topic
can be discussed, the nurses will require to work on measures, for example, using sanitizers,
also using sterilised equipment in surgical and non-surgical procedures to reduce the case of
infection especially in public healthcare organisations.
10. Assess one (1) way in which different aspects of information may be used in
your workplace.
This information can be used by the hospital facilities to design their work standards
policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of their practices.
11. Using and reflecting on what you have learnt from your research
The research will be used in a hospital facility to upgrade the operational process in
reducing the cases of infectious disease. The nursing practice standards can be
upgraded to improve their work standards.

TOPIC 2
Does the use of simple and clear words reduce the chance of miscommunication between
nurses and clients?
1. Establish and define the general research objective.
The communication process is very important in hospital operations; the need for clear
information transmission is required for open communication. Without this, there might
be miscommunication between the patient and the staff, thus increases the risk of
medication error, hence will risk an individual’s life.

2. Identify ONE (1) another discipline that could be connected to this research
activity.
Nursing practices are discussed with this research criterion in improving the focus on
the study theme.
3. Briefly explain your choice of discipline.
Nursing practices are very important because it helps nursing staff to make sure that
they are following the code of conduct while performing their required standards based
on healthcare standards. It is also important because any gap in practices can increase
the risk of legal action towards the nursing staff, and medication error is another
serious allegation that is required to be followed. Therefore the two topics will work
well with each other.

5. Evaluate and select a maximum of two (2) methods of gathering the information
you think would be most appropriate to answer your research question.
There are different types of research methods used for data collection in setting a focus.
However, every method is different which require research in setting a focus. The
research methods selected for this research are as followed,
- Literature Review – it will work on secondary data collection in setting a focus,
it will underpin a number of journal articles related to both medication error and
nursing practices to shape the research in the right direction. It will help the
research to work on previous researches, it will reduce the cost of research in
forming perspective.
- Focused group survey – it will work on close-ended questions in shaping the
perception using a number of researches in forming perspective so that a
particular scenario could be prepared in shaping its direction.

systematic approach.

small scale evaluation study. Nurse education in practice, 13(5), pp.400-406.
7. Distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information.
There is a distinction among relevant and irrelevant data which are utilised to plan
viewpoint. Relevant data are determined data dependent on anticipated cost/income of
the firm, utilising distinctive game-plan, and work with subjective or quantitative data.
In the interim irrelevant data take a shot at other data, for instance, cost that doesn't
vary between choices, it likewise deals with different units of data to set a core interest.
For this exploration, relevant data will work to support the examination as it will assist
the examination with working with relevant insights in framing point of view
8. In order to facilitate your analysis, organise the information you have
found.
The information has been utilised for the research to work on this perspective using
different elements. The research has worked will work on secondary data collection to
control the cost in this research to shape its study. The information will be used in a
different scenario, for example, will help hospital practitioner to improve their
communication strategies in formulating its perceptive.
9. Prioritise information based on the research objectives.

cultural diversity in nurse-patient communication. Collegian, 24(1), pp.63-69.
10. Compare and contrast your two (2) sources of information.
The selected articles for the research determines that hospital facilities are required to
work on taking improvement to work on communication skills among nursing staff
from their academic life so that their practices can be strengthened from the start. It
helps the individuals to design strong communication links with the patients in
planning their treatment plan. Meanwhile, other research has worked on a new
perspective to work on cultural diversity while building nurse-patient communication.
It will support a new policy structure in hospital facilities so that the required results
can be achieved.
11. As your findings may be used to establish an evidence-based practice,
identify one (1) impact your conclusions may have in terms of duty of care
requirements.
Using the information, the hospital facilities will support the individuals to work on
individual nursing practices in terms of communication as it will support flexible
hospital policies and procedures to work on collaborative operations.

Use information in practice
Assess one (1) way in which different aspects of information may be
used in your workplace
The information can be used to evaluate different elements which can be
aligned with their existing strategies to involve incorporate strategies
informing perspective.
Using and reflecting on what you have learnt from your research,
identify one area for change in your workplace or current practice
The policy structure of the hospital is required to work with
communication models as it will support the organisation to work on
sustainable policy in offering a good environment to nurses as well as the
patients.
Identify issues that require further research and evaluation
It is working with secondary data collection, thus finding relevant and
authentic data will be a challenging task for this research.
