INTRODUCTION
This reflective report looks at Laudoato Si which is papal letter sent by the Pope to the
bishops of Roman Catholic church and the representation of Catholic social teaching principles.
In addition to this, analysis of Laudato Si and Catholic social teaching principles in context of
personal area of study is also provided in this reflective report.
MAIN BODY
Laudato Si and representation of Human dignity principle
The human dignity principle focuses on protecting human life in all its stages including
home and the outside world. This principle is represented in the papal document by offering an
understanding which is theologically grounded in its complexity, meaning and scope. The papal
document states that individuals focusing on defending human dignity can find the Christian
faith the deepest reasons for this commitment. The Christian social teaching principle of human
dignity is represented in the document by looking at the concept of Christianity that humans are
made in the image and likeness of God (Blaney, 2021). The Pope reflects that human beings all
need to act in a certain way which reflects the shared human dignity and Christianity with deep
theological understanding. In addition to this Laudato Si also focuses on careful god’s creation
and the connection each human share to the creative world and to those who will come in the
future generations. This further highlights the principle of human dignity as it is centered around
the relation and togetherness of humans which also has a theological perspective. The
theological perspective which forms the basis here is that humans are made in God’s image and
that gods only son took flesh and died for the sins of human beings which means that human
beings have a certain dignity unique to them.
Laudato Si and the principle of common good
Laudato Si States that the some of those conditions of social life which allows social
groups and their individual members relatively through and ready access to own fulfillment is the
definition of common good. The concept of common good is one of the key principles of
Catholic social teaching principles which Is also related with human dignity and develops
solidarity among humans (Petre and Elizabeth, 2021). The concept of common good is
represented in Laudato Si because it states that action needs to be taken as a single human family
with shared responsibility for others and for creation. In addition to this the focus of Laudato Si

on wealthy countries having a responsibility to reduce consumption of nonrenewable resources
and contribution to help the poor nation develops in sustainable ways is another aspect of the
document which focuses on the common good and the ability of individuals to take a shared
action against climate change. Finally Laudato Si also looks at the impact on poor end we be
bowling poverty have contributed least to climate change yet there disproportionately impact by
it there is a serious concern included in the papal document that as a result of excessive use of
natural resources by wealthy nation those who are poor experienced pollution lack of access to
clean water hunger and more.
CST principles represented in Laudato Si
One of the primary principles of Catholic social teaching which is included in Laudato Si is
called the family community and participation the entire document is centered around uniting
individuals to fight climate change and take action so that the sustainable ways can be adopted
by both poor and wealthy nations. It is stated in Laudato Si that building an active community
and active participation of all members of the community is important for building better future
for generations. The five ways of living during the pandemic provided in the papal document
highlight the importance of family community and participation this involves supporting policies
that creates external changes to global energy systems and changing the ways authentic
relationships can be created (Jennings, 2018).
Analysis of relation between Laudato Si, CST principles and course of study
The principles and values provided in Laudato Si helps individuals develop community
participation and improve their role in building a sustainable future for everyone. This document
is important in relation to the area of study as it improves ethical working and helps individuals

From the above report it is determined that Laudato Si is an important document which helps
individuals understand Catholic social teaching principles and develop a way of life which is
more sustainable and contributes to reducing climate change. in addition to this the information
provided in the papal document can also help individuals in their course of study and

sustainable development.
