INTRODUCTIONEmployment law deals with the rights and duties that govern the relationship betweenemployers and employees. It is often referred as labour law also. It is basically designed for thesafety of workers (Bennett and Gibbeson, 2010). Under this law, workers are protected fromvarious discriminatory practices, unfair treatment, and unsafe working conditions. It is a broadconcept governed by state and federal provisions. It covers the rights of employees at work. Italso states various exceptions that are to be followed and kept in mind while employing people. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTImplied terms: An agreement consists of many terms and conditions. Those terms whichdepend upon law/courts/statue and nature of work of an employee are known as implied termsunder employment (Milner, 2011). Example: goods sold must be of satisfactory quality.Expressed terms: It refers to those terms that are knowingly inserted by the parties by amutual agreement between them. These include terms on which parties have given consent for.Example: time duration of contract.Imposed terms: These terms refer to those duties whose burden is imposed upon a personwithout his/her consent. Example: maintenance of streets for public travel (Employmentcontracts, 2015).LEGAL AND HR ISSUESIssues in relation to Anthony WoodsAnthony wood was appointed as a television engineer to work on site in BTL company.Issues that arose against him were that he was using relatively expensive parts rather than thecheaper parts that employees of BTL were supposed to use. Even the workers did not have anyidea or proper training on how to use those expensive spare parts. As a result of which the workdone by workers was substandard leading to a bad reputation of BTL in the minds of itscustomers. Issues in relation to Martin WilliamsMartin was a television engineer of BTL who was conducting a television repair work onthe shop floor. Issues that arose against him were that, due to his poor workmanship he left an3
