INTRODUCTION
Each country have particular and specific set of rules, policies, guidelines, regulations
ad statues for the business organisation in the nation belong to various kind of industries. Same is
applicable for UK as well and it has significant laws, legislature which direct the flow and
operation of all organizational activities. In the present report a discussion related with laws and
policies made specifically for health and care industry of UK is carried out. The report contains
a task of two sections. First section defines the basis on which this polices and statues are based
and another section explains in particular, code of practice, guidelines, legislation and polices at
national and organizational level.

Health care and health policy for England is responsibility of the central government whereas in
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland it is the responsibility of respective developed
government. Each of these countries have a distinct structure of Health care system but all over
they are same at the end (Overview of healthcare in the UK, 2018). The health care consists of
two broad section one deals with strategy, policy and management and other deals with actual
medical and clinical care.
These measures or sections will improve the quality of services that are been taken in
consideration in much suitable and effective way. This will lead the organization to improve the
quality of operations which increases the proper management of the health and social care
services that will help in proper management of health and social care services that will assist in
effective placing of legal policies and frame work that will impact the proper management of
caring and nursing services that will help in proper management of business activities and
action plans which will improve the overall performance and thus increases the quality of
operations and thus will increase the effectiveness of operations in much suitable way (Nickson,
2013). The legal frameworks policies are been decided by many regulatory bodies like national
Health service (NHS), Care quality commission (CQC) and Quality improvement authority
(QIA) and The legal policies or framework for health and social care practitioners which will
help in proper management of caring facilities. Some major legal framework's development

 Care act, 2014: this act defines the duties and responsibility of the local authorities in
context with assessing the needs and their eligibility for having care and support
services which are publicly funded. The Local authorities are required to carry out an
assessment of anyone who appears to ask support, irrespective of their qualification for
state funded care.
 Health and Social Care Act, 2012: this act first introduced legal duties related with
health and inequities. The act is applicable to specifics bodies of heath and care sectors,
including department of health, public health England, clinical commission groups and
NHS (Key legislation, 2018). This act requires reducing health inequities among people
and changes are made for local authorities regarding public health functions.
 Equality Act 2010: this act defines the duty of equality on all public sector bodies.

The guideline is defined as “Care and Support Statutory Guidance” under the Care
Act, 2014 by the department of health in UK. The guideline broadly includes the provisions
related with providing guidance to statutory local authorities on how they can meet the legal
obligations imposed on them through laws and legislation (Care and Support Statutory
Guidance, 2018). The local authorities which are responsible for regulating the organizations of

practitioners in UK, it can be concluded that the legislation in UK related with this sector has
been made with sheer accuracy and taking into considerations all the dimension a health care
organisation deals with. All the aspects that is legal, ethical and political factors have been taken
into account before formation and amendments of laws and status. Further it can be articulated
that UK health and care sector have a definite legislation structure with numerous laws and one
