Aiming to understand the various nuances of leadership, the essay will endeavor to relate

A closer examination of the article will reveal that the practice of efficient leadership in
business or other enterprises inculcates the notions of correct values and endeavors. The article
emphasizes upon the idea that leadership practices in unstable and changing times needs to take
into consideration the important factors of Vision, Understanding, Courage and Adaptability
(George, 2017). In order to face the innumerable uncertainties posed by the changing world, the
author suggests that business leaders must include the perpetration of authentic leadership. The
article concluded by mentioning that in order to cope with the unsteady environment, it is
essential for leaders to focus on the core strengths and values related to the future development
of the organizations.
The article serves to shed light on the concept of ‘authentic leadership’. Recent studies
are emblematic of the idea that ‘authentic leadership’ refers to the practice that includes the
inherent relationship of the leaders with the subordinates based on an ethical foundation (Leroy

incorporated by business managers. The concept of vision in leadership is one of the most
important values that assist in the realization of goals (Taylor, Cornelius & Colvin, 2014). In
order to delete the uncertainties, leaders must harbor a clear vision about the progress of the
organizations. Helping the subordinates to work towards the common vision can enable the
implementation of leadership goals. Unilever’s Paul Poleman has envisioned a concrete CSR
policy. The concept of ‘Understanding’ also forms a crucial part in leadership. In the changing
scenario, leaders must include a comprehensive understanding of the various faculties,
departments and culture of the business organizations. The quality of ‘understanding’ the various
needs of the subordinates can assist in coping with the unstable environment. Recent studies
reveal that the ability of the leaders to understand the innumerable changes can ensure the
adoption of the changes in the business organizations (Woolner et al., 2014). It is also seen that
that the concept and value of ‘courage’ in leadership can usher the adoption and implementation
of bold idea by the leaders. This is directly related to the future development of the
organizations. Recent studies are emblematic of the fact that courageous leadership practices also
focusses on the adoption of decisions that helps the leaders in leading the various change.
Examples of courageous leadership can be seen in the case of Denise Morrison, the CEO of
Campbell Soup Company, who had exhibited courageous leadership traits in motivating others.
Lastly, the article also proposes that efficient leaders should exhibit the trait of
‘Adaptability’. This is one of the most crucial traits that need to be inculcated for efficient
leadership practices (Dubey, Singh & Gupta, 2015). Studies project that adoption of flexibility in
leadership endeavors can ensure the rapid development through the inculcation of short term as
well as long term policies and measures. Leaders’ adaptability is reflective of the impact of the
