INTRODUCTION
Leadership and management is termed as the manner of encouraging individuals in business
by which they can perform well and attain their targets as effectively. It is the procedure of
guiding employees and candidates with the help of plan of actions to raise up the productivity
and profitability of business of management. The management consider in this report is Marriott.
It is a multinational wide range of hotel management that controls various sort of
accommodation services (Kirkland, Edwards, and Flaherty, 2021). The report involves the
manner of leaders and leadership roles that are followed by them in respect to manage their
candidates. As the managers might not manage individuals as per to them, so they need HR in
respect to maintain records and their performance management work on the front desk work.
During the current pandemic situation, there are various issues and problems related to business
by which it will directly affect their business productivity and profitability.
TASK 1
Demonstrate an understanding of the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be an effective people
manager
By having effective managers in the management it will be easy for the employees or staff
faculty to maintain their dealing with them. As per to the skills and behaviour, managers of
Marriot also motivate staff faculty to perform their managerial operations and functions for
raising the productivity and profitability in business of management.
Good communication – By having good communication skills it will leads to higher
efficiency and will also lead to higher staff retention duties in the business of
management. As in Marriot staff faculty maintain an adequate manner of transparency
with managers as per to their roles and responsibilities in the business.
Ability to motivate – Managers move forward and motivate their staff faculty to perform
well by which they can easily engaged in their roles (Tümkan, and Sharm, 2021). By
determining candidates’ skills and knowledge it will be easy for the managers to divide
the job role as per to worker’s skills and knowledge through which they can perform
better.
Distributing work – By distributing task and projects to staff faculty as per to their skills
and abilities for maintaining coordination in the business. Marriot helps internal section

of management who accomplishes the supervisor level in respect to fix their targets for
the management and the inferior section of business that involve the managers who
manage the actions of the workers and their task or project.
Problem solving skills – As maintaining effective problem solving skills that it will easy
for the employees to share their personal and professional issues with managers for more
clarity. Managers in Marriot are responsible to maintain effective environment by solving
issues and problems of workers (Mifsud, and Landri, 2021). By having applied skills
and sense of knowledge in the business it will be effective for them to maintain the
proper term and relationship with them as effectively to maintain the authorities as
effectively.
Considering many factors in decision making – By maintaining external and as well as
internal factors in the business it will be helpful for management in the procedure of
decision making. Marriot hotel have skilful manager who consider factors and keep
available in decision making manner in order to maintain dealing between staff faculty.
Developing new ideas to solve consumer’s problems – By developing new thought of
ideas in the business it will be effective for them to solve consumer’s issues. If consumers
in Marriot have any issues and problems than they will directly concern it with manager
for more help and enquires as related to them. As solving the consumer’s issues and
problems in the management it will be effective for them to maintain their dealing with
the manner of the roles and responsibilities in the business.

Identify and evaluate key HR processes which underpin the performance management of people
at work
The managers are facing a lot of challenges in the business by which they can’t handle
individuals and so they require the HR in respect to strengthen their activities in the management
as for working in the front desk work as effectively (Cook, Zill, and Meyer, 2021). The COVID-
19 have undoubtedly impact on the manner of the Managers, HR and the staff faculty to
cooperate, and there are various sort of problems and challenges that are faced by business of
management of Marriot as in maintaining the terms of individuals then it might not come across
