Leaders ormanagers of service sector businesses can develop their skills and capabilities through followingways:Formal Training: The hospitality business can provide formal training and coachingprogram to leaders in order to bring improvement in their skills, capabilities and performancelevel. The training programmes will lead to provide required knowledge in specific areas to bothleader and managers. For example, formal training is provided to leaders and managers throughvarious management and leadership development programs. Development job assignment: After providing required formal training, service sectororganization assigns leaders with development jobs which targets the new acquired skills(Developing Leadership Skills, 2019). For example, the development job aims at that leaderslearn more, they undergo changes and also gain various leadership skills.360 degree feedback: This approach can allow leaders to increase learning opportunitiesthrough their current task. The leaders and managers can bring improvements in their skills andcapabilities through the 360 degree feedback approach as it provides performance perception ofleaders from full circle of viewpoints through feedbacks from peers, superior, subordinates andalso from self-assessment. For example, the feedback helps in recognising the efforts andperformance quality thus it can help in improving the skills and capabilities of leaders. Personal Development Planning: Leaders can develop their skills and capabilitiesthrough personal development plan. This is the process that involves creation of an action planthat is based on values, reflection, self-assessment, goal-setting and plans for personal skillsdevelopment (Davis, van Niekerk and Okumus, 2018). For example, personal development plancan bring further improvements in skills and capabilities of managers and leaders. As thepersonal development plan involves various actions and resources that can be used fordeveloping certain skills. 1
