INTRODUCTIONLeadership can be defined as the set the new vision and direction to their team membersso that they can follow to achieve their objective. In this, leaders play important role to settingvision and direction to their team members. Whereas management helps to control, direct andevaluate the group as according to set principles and believes values of their organization. Thisassessment will help to understand the traits that are involved to being a successful leader. Thisalso help top identified that how a good leader can be developed. With the help of the reflectionexperience of own leadership is being included in this assessment. Difference between theleadership and management also being described. MAIN BODY1. Characteristics of being successful leaderBeing a good leader, they must have number of characteristics and skills that can help theleaders to effective leading and directing their group of individuals. This will help the employeesand other individuals, being motivated and work had to achieve their target. I have analysed thatbeing a successful leader must have characteristics and skill are:Effective communication — I analysed that being a successful leader, they should have theeffective communicator, so that can easily influence their team members to follow theirstrategies and rules, in order to achieve their short term and long term target. This characteristicmake them successful to lead their team effectively by having clear communication and relationwith their group members. By having the clear and effective communication, individuals easilyunderstand, what a leader want to explain. Employee humility — Another characteristic hat I have identified that, employee humility.Before becoming a leader, they also are the employee an organization at basic level. So theyunderstand their employees and also have the employee humility feeling toward to their towardsto their employees. This helps to understand their employees and their problem easily, and canresolve them effectively (Northouse, 2018). Never stop learning — Another characteristic that I have understood that, they have never stoplearning. Successful leaders have the curiosity to learn at every step when they feel needed, theyalways try to learn from the employees, management and also from the outside world, that give

their skill enhancement and making them awareness of the updated and new trends in the marketand competitor.Acting strategically — Successful leaders are open-minded, have forwarded thinking, this helpsthem to act strategically. Leaders always make the strategies as according to the availableopportunities in the company and market and also mould their strategies to tackle any challengesand problem if arises in front of them. This make them successful to act strategically in everysituation by handling them effectively.Accountable and responsible – Leader or a successful leader hold themselves as accountableand take responsibilities of their own errors and mistake in the company or in te outside world aswell. Leaders do not lame anyone other for their mistake, but take responsibility and try toresolve it as soon as possible, so that company or team members do not have to be sufferedbecause of their mistakes. Clear goals — I also identified that, successful have the clear goals in their mind and accordingto them they make strategies to accomplish that goal. This clarity of goals help the leaders toexplain the goals and target to their employees and help them to direct effectively. This havingthe clarity of the goals and target helps them to make successful (Kutz, 2018). Vision for future — Successful leaders have the vision for the future, To develop thesustainability in the business this visionary characteristics help them to make change in the futureaccording to the situation. This vision helps to manage all the change while making thesustainability and growth in the market. According to the vision, they make the strategies asaccording to the situation and handle them effectively.Managing complexity — I analysed that successful leaders handle all the complex situationwhether it is employee turnover or low productivity, conflict among the employees and manymore, they effectively handle all the situation and try to manage them as soon as possible. Theyare not afraid to face any complex situation and mange them effectively (Soliman, 2018).Forecasting — I understood that, Forecasting is another characteristic that make themsuccessful. With the help of forecasting, they prepare strategies for the future situation and planto bring growth in their business. This helps to analyse the future opportunity, challenges andissue in the market and company, leaders make planning and strategies for the future as well. Team building — Successful leaders also have the team building characteristic. With the help ofthe team building, leaders form an effective team that can contribute to achieving target of the
