INTRODUCTIONLeadership and management are the functions which are required be assessed by themanagement at the time of facilitating change in the organization. Change is important in thefirm to conquer new goals as well objectives. This report will focus on care homes whichhelp the individuals and provide care services to them. But with the transformation in theenvironment, it is required by the care home to adopt some of the changes according to theneeds of the society. On the other hand, the emphasis of the report is on the factors whichinfluence change in the care home. Further, different change management theories will beadopted by the firm to manage the change. Last but not the least, the importance of effectivechange management will be described effectively.FACTORS WHICH INFLUENCE THE NEED FOR CHANGE IN HSC Change is the phenomena in which the things are transformed into the newer form. Itcan be basically termed as becoming different. The change which is carried out can bepositive as well as negative (Kuruppuarachchi and Perera, 2010). The industry which iswitnessing huge transformation is the health and social care sector. So matching the pacewith the present needs and wants Care Homes are required to adopt certain changes whichcan effectively help in delivery good services in the health care sectors. There are several factors which influence the need for change in the care home whichare as follows:Political factors- The political environment is unstable because of the new norms andthe regulations which are formed by the government. Due to the increasing health carehomes in UK, the government has made regulations regarding safety of the patients.The government major emphasis is on the quality of the services which are providedto the patients (Munn-Giddings and winter, 2013). Further, they have given leverageto the low income group that they can take free treatment from the care home. In thiscase, the care home has to change their norms so that they can support the governmentand provide proper treatment to the individuals.Economical factors- The increasing rate of unemployment and poverty is affecting thecare homes. As due to economic crises, poverty has been spread around the world, soin this case, the care home has to support the people who are poor (Hasson, 2010).They are required to provide them shelter. For this reason, a change is needed that to

help those individuals, the care homes need to expand their area so that they canprovide proper services to them. Social factors- Due to the advanced medicines and proper treatment the lifeexpectancy of the people have increased. Due to this reason, there is more demand forthe care home in UK. In the previous time, the demand was less so with the exitingstaff the care home easily managed the patients (Reeves and et.al., 2011). But due tothe increasing old age individuals as well as dementia patients, it is required to recruitthe new staff which can help in providing quality services to the individual. On theother hand, the skilled staffs are required which can help in managing the scenario(Baker and et.al., 2010).Technological factors- It is one of the most important factor which directly affect theneed for change in the care homes. The technology is up-grading and with that thereare new and effective machines which are introduced to cure the patients(Staniszewska and et.al., 2011). Due to this reason, the care homes are required toinvest in the machines so that they can diagnose the diseases of the patient effectively.On the other hand, as new diseases are taking place so it needs to install the newinstruments. Other than this, the new equipments and the instruments are required inthe care homes of UK which can easily communicate can transfer the information tothe senior employees (Prochaska, 2013). RANGE OF THEORIES AND STRATEGIES RELATED TO CHANGEMANAGEMENT IN HSC Initiating change is not the tough task for the organization. But the most difficultactivity is to manage change effectively in the organization. In the care home, it issignificantly required to manage the change because the lives of people are on stake. On theother hand, care homes needs special guidance and support to generate changes in the firm(Chartier, ed., 2014). The reason is that the change is not accepted by the people effectivelyas the firm witnesses the resistance to change. For supporting and effectively managing thechange, there are several theories given by the authors which are as follows: Lewis’s change management model- This model states that the there are basicallythree level which is witnessed by the individual. so to successfully adopt the change,it is required to analyze these three stages:Unfreeze
