INTRODUCTION Leadership is the ability of an individual or group of individuals that works to influence the people. This is process that involves making sound, creating the accountable vision that aids to establish achievable goals and providing follower with the knowledge and tools. Management is the arts of getting things done with help of others (Hallinger, 2018).The managers of enterprise administers company, create policies and provide the supports to owner to implement the essential objectives. The present report is based on business activities of Qbic, UK. This is enterprise that provides hospitality services to customers at the medium level. Furthermore, the report will cover following topics as Functional areas and its hierarchy of management, communication central to leadership and management, current drivers of globalisation, Lastly, compare and contrast styles of leadership and management. 1. Description on functional areas of chosen enterprise and its hierarchy of management. The Talent plus has divided into operational function within different functional areas and that allow each to operate within its area of management. Thus, its defined in following manner as- Management-Theoneoftheprimaryroleofmanagementistosupervisethepeople performance. There are number of management activities fall within categories as- Planning-The managers must plan with setting long terms goals for enterprise and building short term strategies so that each things can be execute in well manner. Organizing-The manager of the enterprise are responsible for organizing the different operation of enterprise in most efficient manner (Rosile, M Boje and Claw, 2018). Controlling-The managers of the enterprise works as to take the action that aids to ensure that activities are on tract to get desired goals. If there is any deviation between planned and actual then corrective actions are to be taken towards it. Leading-The manager to the enterprise must work as to lead the team and group with the use of new process and development of commodities. Operations-Theoperationalmanagerisresponsibleforlookoverdaytodaybusiness operations. 1
Marketing- It is term that aids to defined the need and wants of customers to meet the requirement of public. The marketing function will be inclusive of good and services, determine how good and services are to be delivered (Sousa and Rocha, 2019). Accounting-They are ultimately responsible for accurately representing financial transaction to internal and external parties, government agencies and investors. Finance- The finance manager of the enterprise needs to get involved in planning, obtaining and managing company funds. Hierarchy management-The enterprise as Talent plus has divide his work at three functional level as Top, medium and low level. Top level- The board of directors, president, vice-president all are the example of Top level of managers. The manager of enterprise are responsible for controlling and overseeing the entire organisation activities. Middle level managers-There are members as general managers, branch managers and department managers. These person are accountable for their departmental functions. They use to devote more time to the process of enterprise. Low level managers- The person who works as this level are call as low level of managers and they are as supervisors, section leads and foremen. They perform their workactivitiesasassigningtasktoemployees,ensuringqualityandquantityof productivity, guiding and supervising employees activity on day to day basis. Hence, the Talent plus uses this functional and hierarchy of management so that they can able to perform functions effectively. By use of appropriate management, it is possible to get the desired achievements. 2. Define communication central to leadership and management. The communication is central function in order to lead and manage the organizational activities of the enterprise. Thus, leaders of the enterprise must communicate the vision and goals to his team in order to achieve it in effective manner. Effective communication is also significant for the manager so that managerial function can be performed in better mode (Turnnidge and Côté, 2018). These as are planning, organizing, directing, controlling and leading. Thus, the enterprise as Qbic also need to have better communication between their manager and leaders. The department as Banquet also perform their function with marketing and sales and food and beverage department needs to have front office to relay over the information to guest about the events those are schedules and bill payments. 3. Define current drivers of globalisation and justify how its impact working of enterprise. The integration of economies at the glob level aids to conduct the better process of procuring goods, services and capital across the world. These are the following key driver of globalization as- Technology-This has shaped and set the better foundation for modern globalization. With the help of innovation the hospitality industry being capable to revolutionized it activities. Thus, fastest growth of the internet is the latest technological driver that created global e-business and e-commerce. 3
Political drivers-The liberalisation in trading rules and deregulated markets leads to lowered the tarries and allowed foreign direct investment among world. Market divers- The local markets are becoming more saturated and opportunities and growth in this markets are limited (van Assen,, 2018). With help of global expansion, this kind of situation can be coped up. By transferring marketing activity at some level are also incentives to choose internationalization. Cost drivers-The efficiency and cost is function that may vary from country to country. These are the drivers that provides opportunity to build global scale economies and to have high product development cost. Competitive drivers- due to globalisation, the inter firm competition are gradually increasing and this enterprises are forced to play at internation level. In this, it can be stated that strong interdependences among countries and high two way trades also supports this driver (The Impact of Globalization on the Business,2014). Impact of globalisation drivers on businesses The drivers of globalization leads to enhance competition among the enterprise. The comparison of two leadership styles has to be defined in the following manner as- Laissez fair leadership style-This term can be termed out as hands off approach. This is style that aids to yield the lowest result because leader to the enterprise do not directly supervise the employees (The Five Leadership Styles,2017.). This terms impacts the over all working to the enterprise. Under this, the power of taking decision is left to the employees with little or no 4
involvement of leadership. Thus, leader to the enterprise provides resources but employees to the firm are diagnose and have to resolve the issue their own. This term can be effective at the situation in which employees feel motivated and capable to perform wit minimal direction from management. This process needs minimal direction from management. With help of it, employees to the enterprise can able to take participation in activities and are also able to come with creative idea. This all leads to perform the working of the enterprise in better and efficient mode. This is the style that works as to encourage the participation from employees in terms to take decision making and also helps to improve the morale of employees. With help of choosing it, the enterprise is able to have long term consistency within markets.
