Leadership refers to an activity and process of guiding and leading individuals regarding an
activity task and project within a company. It can be a procedure or art of encouraging

Mary Theresa Barra is the Chair and CEO of General Motors Company. She was born on
December 1961 in Royal Oak, Michingan. She is the child of Ray and Eva Pyykkonen. She
attended Waterford schools in Michigan and graduate of Waterford Mott High School. She
started working for General Motors as a co-op student at age 18.
