It is essential for individual to focus on collective leadership as it helps in offering widerange of opportunities for creating culture of continuous improvement, high quality andcompassionate care to the patients. In addition to this, it is important for health care setting toemploy skilled manpower who are capable to take effective decisions and control the actions ofcare users. Leadership team within health care organization needs to empower all the staffmembers and develop trust in the process of collaboration so that effective leadership culture canbe maintained in order to achieve success. However, there are different challenges that are facedwithin health care setting (Finkelman, 2015). Therefore, leaders are required to generate betteropportunities in regard to consult with patients in order to improve service quality. Leaders are required to undertake different qualities and attributes such as powerfulwhich means to possess the strength in order to overcome any difficulty or challenge. Moreover,leaders should have capable enough which means that they should possess ability, fitness andquality in order to carry out the desired goals effectively such as delivering quality of care to thepatients (Busse, Aboneh and Tefera, 2014). Another attribute of leaders is to drive changeswithin the organization and thus, they are able to deliver effective change in order to attain betterresults. Furthermore, they needs to adopt transformational change which is a process that helpsleaders to alter basic essential elements of business culture by involving the norms, values andassumptions under which business carries out its functions. There are different leadership characteristics adopted by individual working in MentalHealth Hospital such as dynamic, passionate, motivational influence on other people, focused toinspire other individuals, directing team etc., in order to seek inspiration from others. Therefore,leaders are required to develop better qualities while working within health care setting so thatthey can plan and desire to deliver better health care facilities to mental patients (Avolio andYammarino, 2013). However, it is essential for the management of organization to direct theirwork in regard to ensure the respect and trust of their team members and thus, they can lead tothe development of clinical practice. Through demonstrating an effective leadership style, careproviders such as doctors, nurses etc. are in a powerful position to influence the successfuldevelopment of other staff members and ensure that professional standards have been met thatleads to attain growth objectives of health care setting. Leader in any organization are describedas a source of inspiration and role model for other team members such as nurses and carepractitioners so that quality care can be provided to service users (Huber, 2013). 2

Moreover, there are different situations that are arisen in health care setting in whichindividual is required to demonstrate their leadership qualities such as handing information aboutmental patient to the nurses worked in the next shift, shortage of staff on the floor, ensuringleaves of staff members because of sickness, lacking in patient's hourly observations etc. Thus, inall such situations, care providers of Mental Health Hospital is required to focus on leadershipqualities so that they can deliver the best services to service users and thus, they can overcomethe challenges effectively (Yoder-Wise, 2014). For instance, through demonstrating effectiveleadership change, individual can manage all their responsibilities efficiently and direct theirteam to work towards the common goals of care setting. Hence, it can be evaluated that strong and capable leadership is a key to drivetransformational change and thus, it helps them to take critical decisions. For instance, leadersworking in care setting should be able to make decisions, delegate responsibilities, resolveconflicts and develop integrity so that overall objectives can be attained. Role of care providers isthat they should be emotionally attached with other team members and thus, direct them torender effective quality services to the patients in order to overcome issues (Reeves and et. al.,2013). All the above discussed leadership functions are core elements which are essentials toconnect leadership with the effective development of other team members i.e. nurses, carepractitioners and doctors. Also, it can be assessed that providing coaching and mentoring helpsleaders to become successful in order to develop the skills of other staff members. Health careleaders are required to be able to respond effectively towards an ever changing health careenvironment that involves business expectations and changes along with local and nationalpolicy (Maister, 2012). Also, leaders need to be specialist, autonomous, accountable and focused towardsoutcomes so that care providers are able to deliver high standard services in order to fulfill theexpectations of mental patients and overcome diseases. For instance, it is essential for nurses todevelop their skills related to health care practice so that they can provide more facilities andsupport rather than just delivering clinical mental health care (Valentine, Nembhard andEdmondson, 2015). Also, they should be an active person for providing the best physical, socialand cultural environment within care setting. Nurses are required to develop their leadershipskills by engaging with critical thinking, applying their knowledge as well as skills and the mostimportant is to take appropriate action so that any individual suffering from mental health issues3
