INTRODUCTION
Evaluation is defined as the use of methods that examine and investigate the effectiveness of the
concerned subject matter. The main purpose of evaluation is to gain knowledge about the subject matter.
Leadership is the act of influencing team members to perform task effectively in order to achieve team
objectives. Evaluation of the leadership aims to provide information to the leaders and the concerned
organisation, so that they can review the practices they are following and made improvement in those
practices. It helps managers of the organisation to gain insight and develop planning and management
strategies in an organisation that will help to achieve organisational goals (Ni and et.al, 2017). In this
report, analysis and comparison of leadership and management is provided with description of effective
leadership skills and key performance metrics of the organisational sector/market/industry are presented.
Further the significance and impact of the leadership performance in relation to the management and
overall business is outlined. For the purpose of study, AVEVA Group plc an information technology
organisation is selected. AVEVA Group plc is an international organisation that is a part of FTSE100
Index of LSE. The company provide solutions to global industries, enhance digital transformation and
manage complex operational processes. AVEVA Group plc use information technology and artificial
intelligence with human knowledge to provide assistance in faster and precise decision making and
provide solutions to the industries to enhance operational capabilities and generate sustainability (About
Us, 2021). AVEVA Group plc have headquarter in Cambridge, UK and have presence at 90 locations in
more than 40 countries. The company wants to create a sustainable environment around the globe by
providing software solutions. AVEVA Group plc helps the businesses to grow and provide operational
sustainability with the use of agile technologies. This will provide asset maximisation and raise supply
chain and productivity.
MAIN BODY
Analysis and comparison of leadership and management
The ability to effectively lead and manage work force in AVEVA Group plc is of crucial value to
managers in the company. Leadership and management are often seem similar but it is to understand that
leadership is a part of effective management (Adams and et.al, 2017). Leaders of the AVEVA Group plc
have to build an environment in which each and every human resource will develop its potential. A
manger must have the characteristics of a leader. Effective Leadership creates robust management in the
AVEVA Group plc that will results in maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Management models used
by the leaders helps them to create an internal environment that will results in effective management.
These models are as follows:
Kurt Lewin’s Change Management Model
This model is used to implement change within AVEVA Group plc by the managers. The
management model is propounded in 1950 as a simple framework for understanding and implement
change within the organisation (Hussain and et.al, 2018). The framework consists of three stage i.e.
Unfreeze, Change and Refreeze.
Unfreeze: in this stage the human resource are made ready or analysis of the willingness of the
employees is made. A sense of realisation among the employees is created that make them aware
that a change within the organisation is made.
Change: in this actual implementation of change is done. The employees started to accept the
new transformation and processes of doing things. During this transition planning,
communication and continuous motivation to the employees is made. In this stage fear and
uncertainties among employees develop as an adoption of the change.
Refreeze: in this stage the managers to sustain the change solidify the new transformation by
making the change as status quo or new rules. Efforts must be made by the managers to ensure
that the employees do not follow the previous practices and adapt change properly.
The model will help the managers of AVEVA Group plc to effectively implement change with the
organisation.
