LEADERSHIP IN BUSINESS
Part 2 Research Project Evaluation
Findings
Brief summary of the findings
The findings from the report tell that the Lombard consulting is not spoken with the store
managers more which they should have to. They have spoken well with the customers and
contacted well with them and gained knowledge on the requirements of the different types of
customers as well. The briefings and the opinions from the business consultants were not taken
as well. It is also seen that from the research report that the time given for this research is only
12-14 weeks which is not sufficient for the research to be done.
The report also indicates that the lighting fixtures in home wares for Lamberts has in high
demand in the population growth states of Queensland and Western Australia. There have been
12 independent outlets who are supplying the lighting materials.
Description of validity and reliability of information
The validity and reliability of the information is confirmed by the researcher as the location
and the source of data are confirmed. There are copies of secondary data available which are
cross referenced and it has been identified physically in the report. The Lombart’s Consulting
has also introduced careful observation, the development of the hypothesis, the prediction and
the testing has helped in judging the reliability and validity of the information and data collected
for this research to be done (De Vaus and de Vaus 2013). The top management of Lombart’s
Consulting is using the multiple methods to ensure that they are really confident about the
reliability and the validity of the information. They have also the scope about how the markets

work and how this will be useful for the line managers and the marketing researchers to indicate
what is there in the report for studying as well (LoBiondo-Wood and Haber 2014).
Statement assessing the relevance and importance of findings against the research
objectives
There is high growth in the dwelling and the renovations markets industry in Australia takes
place and it is concentrating mainly in the greater Brisbane area. The report suggests that the
industry will continue to grow as there were 89 percent of the people who purchases the home
wares are also in the market for lighting fixtures. It is also seen that the Greater Brisbane area has
a growth of around 4.5 percent annum. This suggests that this industry will grow at the above
national averages and should go ahead with the trend by at least 1 percent. The lighting fixtures
will also be estimated to follow the same trend line as well. The report also found that the
company Lamberts Consulting Services should be targeting the existing customers of Houzit as
well the new customers (Eriksson and Kovalainen 2015). They target basically the customers
having the age of 25-45 years of age and are basically the professionals and the managers in
employment having the household income rate of $110,000 per year. It is also found out from the
report that the average spend is basically $560 per year on home wares. It also suggests that the
GDP of Australia is expected to increase around 3.2 percent (McDaniel and Gates 2013). The
average income has increased above the trend line for the inflation.
The report also suggests the fact that there are no chains offering lighting fixtures in the target
market. There have been 12 competitors in the target area which are totally independent. The
suppliers have been very much important in this type of business and for targeting the market as
well (Berthon et al. 2012). The indirect competition is coming from the electricians as they often
get the opportunity to sell the lighting fixtures to the customers as well the retailers.

LEADERSHIP IN BUSINESS
Performance
Assessing of the project performance against the research plan
The performance of the project has been very good. There is the profitability for the
researcher as well for the company to be taken place as valid and reliable information and data
are collected. The information and the data collected are useful for the assessing the ongoing and
the future performance and growth of Lombarts and Houtiz (Gregg and Klymowsky 2013).
Review
The feedback from the stakeholders is that the Lombarts has not spoken with the store
managers well. They have spoken with the customers well. They also tried to focus on new
category of products and there is the need of getting much more opinions from the consultants
(Heinze Ferneley and Child 2013). The CEO will pass on congratulations to you if job is done
well.
Recommendations
The recommendation is that the Lombarts Consulting should be trying to take the interviews
of the store managers much more and the opinions from the business consultants in order to
understand and identify the markets well (Westwood 2016).
