Power, Masculinity/Femininity and
Uncertainty Avoidance
Power-The power structure in Kuwait is that of a hierarchical one, where the employees will always abide by the decisions taken by
their superiors.
However in Australia the hierarchy is only for the smooth working of the organization. The managers are always approachable.
Two way conversation is always encouraged.
Femininity- Kuwait has a low score on femininity and a high score on masculinity. With a score of 40 Kuwait is a relatively feminine
country and usually try to get peace through negotiation and compromise (Bakir et al.2015).
Australia is on the other hand masculine with a score of 61. They are mainly living with the motif of being the best and fighting for the
best results.
Uncertainty Avoidance- Kuwait , with a score of 80 is high on the uncertainty avoidance index and want to avoid all sorts of conflicts.
They are orthodox in nature.
On the other hand Australia is open and of a liberal nature. At the same time, they are also disciplined as well. They score 50 on this
scale.
