Introduction
Interviews are significantly essential in reaching out to great leaders since it paves the
way for close interaction with such people. When interviewing a well-performing leader or
individual, one can easily get the key insight into the traits that such a person utilizes to get tp
where they are in their current position. It is purposeful to use interview since such people do not
have adequate time for everything they do, their time is limited, hence scheduling an appointed
for an interview is an efficient way to get relevant information from them. It is believed that
there is a distinguishing feature that places whether a person will make to be a good leader or
not. Research has suggested that personal traits are elements that differentiate extraordinary
leaders from the rest, hence the need for discussing such issues with a leader to have a deeper
understanding of the same (Parr et al., 2016). For this exact interview, the main aim is to discuss
the traits that paramount in leaders in the healthcare system. Also, getting an individual personal
trait is a good way to go about since such personal characteristics are critical in influencing a
leader to be as great as they would wish. On the other hand, healthcare us about providing
quality service, which requires sacrifice and efforts to maintain. Therefore, interviewing
healthcare leaders should provide key information regarding the best approach in healthcare as
well as the key character traits essential for excellent healthcare leaders in their service.
Methodology
Interviewing is a significantly important method of data collection technique. Interviews
involve verbal communication between the interviewer and the subject being interviewed. They
provide primary data, which since the information is gathered from the source themselves. It is
important to use the interview in exploratory studies where one wants to explore a topic of

interest, for instance, trait analysis from effective leaders (Bolderston, 2012). The interviewer
must narrow down their focus that would help in designing the question that he or she will ask
the responder to answer. The question is structured in a way that it would be easy for the
interviewer to interpret what they are being asked about. A highly structured interview can be
useful in gaining most from the data since data collected will what is needed in the study being
undertaken (McGrath et al., 2018). Therefore, the quality of data depends on the interview design
and the skill of the interviewer. In this case, a structured interview will be used; this is where
questions will be asked to the interviewee to answer systematically.
In designing and developing this interview, concepts of adaptability and personal
sensitivity were highly utilized to keep the interview stay within the topic and bounded by the
focus of study. Consideration of proper preparation has been made to ensure that the study, as
well as the process, follows the standard guidelines of undertaking an interview. The question
developed are easy and straight to the point. The designing of the question needed time to
formulate the phrasing method without going against the ethical issue of the research (Doll,
2017). Additionally, as studies suggest preparing both the interviewer and interviewee in
fundamental in ensuring that everything goes to plan. In this regard, it took time for me to
prepare myself and my subject to give the path for increased confidence in the process.
Therefore, adequate practice is has been utilized to ensure familiarization with the interview
questions and enable the presentation of the most effective behavior (Jamshed, 2014). Moreover,
the developed question is limited to fit within a short period to reduce boring an interviewee. In
the end, the actual time when taking interviewee with my interviewee, it is ensured that a formal
approach is used and ultimate respect given, hence propelling the quality of the study effectively.

Comparing the finding from the interview to the concept learned is critical in framing
what makes a good leader. In this case, I found that there was an association of the belief that a
good leader is one who has the capacity of serving the people adequately, does not discriminate
but portraying a practical understanding of others. As per the literature outlined in class, good
leadership has been defined as the capacity of the leader to influencing people to achieve certain
objectives and goals as well as engaging people (Ali, 2020). A leader who is capable of engaging
people to collaborate to achieve a common goal can be regarded as an effective leader in their
profession. On the other hand, when I asked my interviewee about their ideas, definition, and
perception about leadership, I found a similarity to what is entailed in the literature. The
interviewee pointed out that a leader is someone who takes a group of people and shows them
the path to follow to reach a particular destination. Hence, it is arguably correct to agree that
good leaders are those who take up their team or subordinates and work hand in hand within
them toward the desired destination in their areas of interest. Leaders are the servant who takes
care of their groups of people who select them to mentor and design paths for all in that specific
group (Khoshhal & Guraya, 2016). Additionally, there are similarities between the interview
findings to the literature, since both come into a consensus that leaders must have effective skills
that bring people together and convince them to work together to achieve something at the end.
Besides, effective leaders have traits that propel them to able to socialize with other
people as they undertake their activities. For instance, the interviewee supposes that a sense of
humor is critical in making people feel at ease hence ensuring they participate in what is
happening at a time. On the other hand, the literature agrees that leaders must be sociable in a
way that demonstrates sound interpersonal reasoning and skills. The concept of open-mindedness
accompanied by flexibility is critical in a leader that wants changes (Lord, 2015). Changes
