Influencing techniques of Leadership”
Leadership is a process in which an individual influence the others to achieve the objective. The
leader can also direct the organization in an organized manner so that it can attain the goals and
achievement. There are six influence techniques of leadership such as liking, reciprocity, social
proof, consistency, authority and scarcity (Antonakis, and David V. Day, 2017).
Liking is the technique of leadership that helps to influence the team members of the
organization by building the relationship among them. It is required for the leader to build the
relationship with the team members so that they can trust their leader and perform their duties as
per the leader direction. For example- More or more interaction with the employees build strong
relation which is used when the leader need extra support.
Reciprocity is one of the techniques of leadership to influence the members in which the leader
and members share information and a personal issue with each other’s to build the strong
relations. If the leader have good relations in with the members then it is easy for him/ her to
influence the members to perform their duties according to achieve the objective. For example-
Social Proof is also a leadership technique that helps to influence the members through social
ways. It is observed that people are highly social conscious due to which using the social
influence technique helps the leader to easily influence them for the work by providing them
some more powers or appreciating them in front of others. For example- Appreciating or
rewarding the members in front of other members encourage them to perform their duties with
high dedication (Influence At Work, 2019).
Consistency is the behavior of maintaining a consistent approach across the different platforms.

will achieve the objective and that can be possible when the leader perform duties in the
consistence manner (Kareem, 2018). For example- It is used in every area especially to complete
the targets with the consistency.
Authority is the other influence technique of leadership in which the leader motivate the member
through appreciation by providing them power or authority to take decision in some areas.
Enhance the authority or responsibility of the member helps to motivate them to perform their
duties appropriately as per the direction of leaders. For example- Encourage the team members
by promoting them in terms of higher position, gives more privileges and the others.
Scarcity is one of leadership techniques. The leader can influence the team by enhancing their
hunger for more facilities and helpful services. The leader has to develop believe on the team
members for providing the more things as the services in order to motivate them to improve the
performance (Uslu, Baris, and Anthony Welch, 2018). For example- telling the benefits to
members by achieving the targets in terms of quality and quantity. This is used to attain the
targets.
Yes, I had done the experiment with the liking technique of influencing. Liking technique helps
