Executive Summary:
During the launch of the Hubble Telescope, Charles J. Pellerin, the key member
of the event, was posed with a bitter experience, which made him understand
the actual meaning of the leadership. In his book, “
How NASA Builds Teams:
Mission Critical Soft Skills for Scientists, Engineers, and Project Teams”, he
portrayed the essentialities of leadership, and further gave four basic types of
leadership. He also mentioned, that the most effective form of leadership is
‘emotion- driven leadership’, and had further given a leadership- competency
model which is based on two continuum axes. However, in the following essay, a
study has been made on the forms of leadership and the ethical issues regarding
the same.

Leadership Issues:
Leadership is one of the most important aspect and tool in the modern day
organisations. Leaders are seen as the tools to bring in the change, motivate the
employees and increase the production of the teams by involving the employees
in the work process[1]. However, the concept and conduct of leadership are
posed with many challenges. The key challenging area of leadership are-
Role Adjustment: One of the key issue that the leaders are faced with, is the role
management policies. Leadership requires two different roles. One is, managing
the employees or members of the respected teams. The other one, is their role
as an employee. In one situation they are telling others what to do and what is
required, and in the second situation. They are being told what to do and what is
required of them[2]. The leaders have often been seen to have difficulties with
managing these two roles, since they are needed to comply with both of these
roles. Again, although, their role as the leaders is one of the job requirement,
yet, since they work closely with their team members, who are included in their
peer groups as well, and share a personal relationship with them, they find it
very difficult to keep with their role as a leaders with their peer group.
Developing Managerial Skill: Managerial skills are quite difficult to develop and
are even more difficult to comply with. One of the important aspect is that there
is a very thin yet clear line between telling people the requirement and imposing
a work on the members. Therefore, the leaders must understand this distinction
and work accordingly. Another, important thing that the leaders must understand
and grasp is the value of time management. Managing time is essential for all
kinds of job profile, but in case of leadership, time becomes an important aspect.
The leaders have to get their job done within the required time as they have to
account to their senior managers as well. Another important aspect is the
