Leadership Management: Challenges and Development of Jerry's Electrical_1

1. Industry based Situation
There are several challenges faced by the Jerry’s electrical which can be comprised into the
external and the internal barriers. The internal barriers faced by Jerry’s electrical comprises of
the poor and inferior quality of workmanship. The employees or the people lack the art of work
which reduced the effectiveness and product efficiency. The second key internal barrier is the
high wastage of materials. The more the wastage of the materials is, the higher is the cost of
production and thus reduces profit. The external barriers comprises of the increasing competition
which undercuts the tenders of Jerry by taking use of cheap labour and inferior quality material.
Thus, due to high prices in comparison with its competitors Jerry losses its customers. The
electrical business of Jerry should follow strategic leadership style as the workmanship will be
good only if Jerry makes the decision and few decisions should be implemented on the team.
This will help the workers in knowing the condition of the business and will make them
motivated to work (Case study, n.d.).
2. Reflection
In my opinion I have always been a dominant leader. I feel so because I am always keen in
managing things and I know how to make my team work. I have capabilities to make the team
together and effectively. But from the overall analysis, I have analysed that I must take use of the
democratic leadership style and at times should follow strategic leadership style. There are
various reasons behind daily use of the democratic leadership which can benefit the company:
The democratic leadership will help in the recruitment and the retention of the skilled
workers. If there is increased level of democracy then the employees can take use of their
skills accordingly and more involvement of the workers could be gain. All such things
enhance the motivation of the workers and retain them in the organisation (Goleman,
2017).
The same could not be applied in Jerry’s electrical as that there ate extreme wastage o
products and as there is poor workmanship which will also be the result of ineffective
leadership style. Thus, strategic leadership would work in that particular situation.
3. Development of Jerry’s electrical leadership capacity
