INTRODUCTION
Leadership and management is mainly defined as the process of controlling and guiding
the company as to attain the set goals. Effective leadership and management mainly helps in
building and developing better performance with managing the team to attain the set goals and
objectives to work better while operating in the dynamic business environment. Sainsbury is
mainly recognized the multinational company mainly serving wide range of food and non-food
products to large number of consumers while operating in the dynamic market. This report
provide detail about leadership and management theories with applying it in the workplace. Also,
comparing the two leadership styles and management approaches which impacts the decision-
making. Lastly examining the different leadership and management approaches and its impact
and roles in the leadership and management on the culture and performance.

Leadership and management theories are mainly aims defining about the focusing on the
trait and behaviour of the individuals as to attain the leadership position in the company. These
mainly help in focussing on the traits and abilities to attain the set established gaols for attaining
the competitiveness while working and guiding the company as to attain the set profits.
The behavioural theory: The behavioural theory mainly aims in defining about the
behaviour being acquired by the leaders while working in the company. For being an effective
leader in the company it mainly required the essential skills and the set of behaviour for guiding
the employees to work in more effective manner (Leadership Theories, 2022). This theory
mainly aims in defining that the leader must behave in the proper manner as to increase and build
the productive workforce as to establish the set business objectives.
The great man theory: This theory mainly belies that the trait of the leaders is being
acquired from when they are born (Tudor Car, Yaw and Arun, 2018). These skills and abilities
being acquired is the natural process which helps in remaining and being more respectable till
the time when they became the leaders to guide and rule the company as to attain the set
objective.
Transformational theory: This theory mainly aims in specifying about conducting and
working, which mainly influences the vision and guide the employees for adapting the changes.
