Reflection Essay
This reflective essay is focused on identifying, evaluating as well as taking a stand on
a previous leadership experience while focusing on ethical and positive leadership. I am
going to choose a leadership experience that I have faced in my daily life, while during the
engagement in some assignments, at university. In general, leadership will be broadly defined
in this essay and hence the most important part of this essay is going to identify as well as
describe my experience. For instance, I have faced so many experiences in which I have
demonstrated leadership and ethics practices. I also tried to lead my group members while
taken a leadership role in a university group assignment. To me, ethics plays an important
role in effective leadership in any scenario like university, school or sports team. Therefore, I
am trying to demonstrate my ethical practices during leading my team of assigned projects at
my university during graduation. Apart from this, I will use Gibbs Reflective Cycle (GRC)
for effectively describing my experience of leading assignments or projects while I was
studying in university. In this context, six key steps will be used by me to narrate my
experiences which are also mentioned in the below figure of GRC as description, feelings,
evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan (Gibbs, 2016). Finally, the last stage of this
reflective essay will contain my action plan for future career development.
