Leadership Self Assessment Introduction on self-assessment and personal reflection In this modern era's international business environment, employees try to follow their leader to get inspired and motivated by them. This can help them to get a positive result from their work. In addition, to be more effective in this particular area,it is very important for a leader to achieve self-awareness.To get success in this field,a leader needs to consider the ways in which they can achieve the topmost position. It is not their smartness about the business, but the whole package, which includes their strengths and weakness. Self- awareness always helps a leader to know about the gaps in their leadership style. It can improve their flaws and make them more effective in their field. The study thus highlights on my self-assessment and it further focuses on my strength and weakness as a leader and the assessment of leadership style. Leadership Vision A leader can easily upgrade their skills and know the importance of it. A leader always tries to motivate their employees' towards positive outcomes and try to take an effective part in the decision-making process of the organisation (Cummings et al., 2018). Thus, my vision is to focus on the self-assessment of myself as a leader of the organisation and thereby become an effective leader. Potential blind spot The potential blind that I observed is that I am insensitive of my behaviour on others at times and it becomes difficult for me to avoid conversation. Self-assessment From the analysis, it can be opined that I tend to be a democratic leader. I mainly have the quality of a democratic leader and thus follow democratic leadership.Although learning self- awareness is not that easy but if I am able to understand self-awareness, then the
Leadership Self Assessment understandings can help me to improve my leadership skills and can give a positive result. There are many ways to learn or adopt better leadership skills and those are: 1.Be aware of strengths and weakness: it is the first strategy of learning self- awareness. People always need to know their strengths and weakness. Thus, self- awareness can help me to improve my flaws and support me to upgrade my strengths too. One should be very honest about identifying their strengths and weakness, thereby; it can help in growth and improvement. If I can identify my exact weakness, then I can easily work on that and can improve those areas with better solutions. 2.Stay aware of the business environment: Being a leader, it is very helpful to stay updated with the environment. It can help me as a leader to know about other people's strong skills. Along with that, a leader should focus on their goal. There can be many things within the business environment, which can distract a leader. In such a case, self-executive can help a leader to identify the critical areas and help them to concentrate on their goal. 3.Remain open-minded:as a leader, I stay curious and should have the propensity to learn something new. I try to welcome unique thoughts and stay open to new ideas. It also helps me to keep myself as well as others motivated. When a leader leads a team, he should understand this point and should accept all ideas of their team members. 4.A leader should understand their areas. A leader always has a boundary and it is very important to stay within that boundary while doing the effective work. While assessing myself and understanding myself as a leader, I found that boundaries help me to know how to behave with my team member and when to react. As a leader, I try not to misuse my power and should not take advantages of others.

Leadership Self Assessment 5.In addition, a leader should stay motivate and should be capable of finding out every possible way to fix any type of issue in the organisation or in the team. I have observed a number of tough situations while leading a team or organisation. However, I tried to stay calm and tried handling the situation with smartness. Strength in my leadership style/capacity To become a great leader, I should identify all of my strengths and weakness. It can help me to improve the different areas no matter what my weakness or strengths are. Being a good leader in life and a good leader in an organisation is not very easy(GĂĽnzel-Jensen, Hansen, Jakobsen & Wulff, 2018).Hence, I try my best to get all possible outcomes. From the particular test, I can easily understand my strengths, which can help me to become a good leader in future, and those are: 1.Good communication: communication is the key point behind a successful leader. A leader should always have better communication skills, which can help them motivate their team members or employees. My employees can easily understand what their leader or I want to convey. This indicates that I have good communication skill. It is helpful to improve the performance of employees. Therefore, I consider this is my strengths in leadership. 2.Social skills: a leader should have better social skills, which will help them to create a better environment in the organisation and create a better relationship with their team members too(Tortorella, de Castro Fettermann, Frank & Marodin, 2018).My social skills help to motivate my employees and can allow me to gain respect from others. Therefore, I can also consider this as my strengths from the test. 3.Listening skills: Before becoming a good leader, a person always needs to have better listening skills. When a leader has better listening skills, they can easily understand the issues of each employee. However, I do fail at times to listen to my colleagues or another member.
Leadership Self Assessment This causes the communication gap and eventually, the outcome of a task degrades. Thus, I can assess that I have a loophole in this quality. 4.Confidence: a good leader always need to be confident about his skills and work. It is very important to show the confidence proudly so that potential business associates and partners can trust the judgement of the leader (Cheung, Yeung & Wu, 2018). Confidence is the one, which gives me more power to lead my team or work harder and motivate others to get the best result in all possible ways. Therefore, it also considers as my strengths. Gaps between your current leadership style/capacity From the particular test, I can identify all my weakness, which are obstructing me to become a good leader in future.Decision-making ability is very important for an effective leader. It can also help an organisation to get make a better decision which can give more profit and help them to expand their business all over the world. However, I do not have a proper decision-making ability. When a situation arises in my life, where I need to make a quick decision, then at that time I feel confused. Thus, I consider this as my weakness. In addition, I do not have the ability to identify exact issues and find out a better solution to those. I do not have that ability or skills which can help me to identify the issue and help me to find out the effective solution. This also creates a problem in the way of becoming a good leader. 4 concepts I learned from the paper A leader should know how to keep the working culture better and create a better environment within the team or organisation (Zhang, Cao & Wang, 2018). I understood that understanding the organisational culture could help me to improve the performance of employees as well as the organisation. I further learned that being a leader one needs to take
Leadership Self Assessment the responsibility of all flaws of my employees and try finding out solutions to improve those flaws. A respected leader should demonstrate discipline within their personal life as well in their professional life. The particular level of a leader’s discipline is tied very closely to the moral character and integrity of a leader. If a leader can learn this, then they can get more respect from their surroundings. Conclusion Therefore, from the paper it can be concluded that with the help of better training, I can easily improve these areas and when people have the confidence they can easily get their desired result.
