A defined of leadership is given by MS Markwhich provides that it is an approach that is used by leaders for inspiring people, developingstrategies and providing direction to a group or organisations. The image of a leader is set byhis/her leadership style. There are many common leadership styles such as transactionsleadership, transformations, charismatic, participatory, autocratic and strategic leadershipstyle ("What Is the Difference Between Leadership Style ...", n.d.). One ofthe common leadership styles is transactional leadership approach inwhich leaders use rewards and punishments for inspiring and leading theiremployee. This style focuses on performing, organising and supervisingemployees and its examples include Zhang Ruimin of Heir Group.Leadership traitsLeadership traits are defined as characterises of a person that assistin influencing and motivating a group in order to achieve specific targets.The attributes of a leader defines their personality. MS Mark has providedthat empathy is one of the most crucial characteristics of a leader.Successful leaders care about their employee, and they guide themthrough challenges. They provide the effective solution which results inincreasing their productivity and the corporation. He further provided thatleaders are required to listen to their followers and provide practicalsolutions to them rather than blaming them for their actions. In ourresearch, it was found that leaders are required to pose a high level ofconfidence, honesty, optimism, and focus. It is necessary that they shouldbe accountable, decisive, build trust with employees and be in theposition of inspiring them ("The Characteristic of Leadership - 7 ImportantTraits", n.d.).
