Introduction
A business that absences long-term goals besides objectives struggles to set the way of the
company, focusing determinations, and attaining competitive advantage. A company,
however, can not only survive, but thrive, with the help of strategic management. The Shell
Company and its petrochemicals are household names. The company is among the world's
top performers in terms of both energy and growth, and it ranks among the leaders in this
field worldwide. The goal of this assignment is to examine how teamwork has contributed to
the growth and success of the Shell Company. The first part of the assignment should be an
introduction in which researcher state and defend the goals of the work. In the second part,
called "data collection," the study actually does its research, makes use of its sources, and
synthesises information and potential outcomes. In the final section, the results are evaluated,
and conclusions and suggestions are made that help accomplish the study's objective. Section
4 of the paper will elaborate on and evaluate the findings of this investigation. Results from
the analysis and discussion will be summed up in the final section.
Task 1
1.1 Determine a topic of investigation that has a strategic implication
The team at Shell Company is one of the best examples of a company that prioritises
maintaining positive connections with its customers. This report explains the team buildings
and teams work in Shell and development of its research work progress within the
organization. It also presents suitable analysis of the project management and planning,
advisory and project implementation of work.
In this report, positive results of theories and its test showed that effective teamwork can lead
to a success and achieving critical goals of Shell. It may also be able to gain the sustainability
of competitiveness.
Moreover, study explains that how team performance can be improved through leadership
with project planning to face the upcoming challenges in modern era of business environment
Shell operates in.

1.2 Discuss the aim, scope, and objectives of the project
Objectives of the project:
 How can we improve Shell’s research study about lubes oil?
 What strategy we should adapt for improving Shell’s research?
 How and effective team force can be made for this purpose?
The aim of the project is to achieve such team management, technology and resources that
meet the new emerging energy challenges. Shell needs to adapt such management strategies
which will make a strong workforce with experienced and skillful team members. What and
how of the leadership matters a lot. When an organizational leader focus on what, it helps the
teamwork connect to the organization outcomes, proving their expertise to be a world-class
investment situation. When a leader pays attention to how inclusive teamwork is created –
emotional safety importance for teamwork in exerting discretionary efforts operates
differently as well as showing the resilience in bouncing back when things are going
unexpected.
A strong consumer proposition has been developed for the brand and embodied in the line
“World Quality” which communicates Shell value-based offering in a precise manner, to its
core target audience.
1.3 Take responsibility for and justify the topic of investigation and its aims,
scope, and objectives
The accomplishments of the business are largely due to the collaborative efforts of its
employees. The company benefits because more work can be completed in less time than if
employees took on each task separately. Teamwork in the shell gives employees a chance to
get to know one another and strengthens relationships within the company. Shell's strategy
communicates a world-class venture case, with a solid permit to work; and rather than merely
participating in a developing industry, Shell aspires to lead it through teamwork (Alhabeeb
and Rowley, 2018). New research confirms that a well-coordinated team is the key to
unlocking the potential of each individual employee and delivering peak results. According to
Soliman et al., (2019) achieving top-quartile employee teamwork has helped Shell reduce
accidents by 20% and improve financial execution by 5%.

1.4 Formulate the project research methodology, including the project structure
and research base
Research type: The study will employ a meta-analysis and systematic review of interventions
aimed at enhancing teamwork and performance using randomised control trials. Different
keyword permutations, including (team, cooperation, or performance measurement). These
phrases will draw inspiration from various models of teamwork that have been established in
the academic literature (Brous et al., 2020). In addition to a standard search of these
resources, key terms like "backing," "supporting," "coaching," and "building confidence" will
be used to scour these databases and articles for relevant results. The paper will also search
for references from previously reviewed articles on teamwork training to see if any additional
articles can be retrieved. The search will be tested ahead of time, and researcher will not be
limiting anyone to any amount of time. First, they will remove the titles, then the abstracts,
and finally the entire articles.
Research philosophy: Positivism, which relies on the use of logic as a lens through which to
examine the study and carry out the research, is one of the relevant research philosophies. For
example, a company like Shell, whose success is dependent on teamwork, would benefit most
from a positivist approach to social research that relied on the use of logical concepts like
teamwork and reliable variables like performance. According to positivists, the thing that can
be communicated through observational methods is data, and this data can be recorded and
disseminated using standard ideas or phrasings and then regularly disseminated to the
relevant community (Yzerbyt et al., 2018).
Research Question Applied: The process of developing a hypothesis begins with dissecting
the research question and culminates in an argument about the value of teamwork at Shell.
Argumentation is used to support the paper's thesis.
Methods of Designing Research: The methodology of the planned study is deductive. The
subject matter has been created, and the testing procedure has been tried and true, so this
method is considered optimal. Although this is a deductive study, the researcher will use a
hybrid approach to information collection. To put it another way, this study's research
paradigm will combine qualitative and quantitative data to examine teamwork at Shell As
opined by Suri (2020) company and how it helps the company reach its goals.

Research Technique: Interviews will be conducted independently or in conjunction with
other requirements activities like site visits. Since researcher will be talking to Shell workers,
the interviews may take place over the phone or in person.
To carry out this study, the researcher relied on both a quantitative and a qualitative
methodology, carrying out the survey via an online platform that was supported by Google
Forms and including both closed and open-ended questions. The format of the questionnaire
allowed for the collection of information in the form of both numerical data and narrative
explanations. The researcher was able to accomplish some of the goals of this study by
conducting content analysis on a variety of different types of literature that is connected to
the subject of the study and the objectives of the study (Hong and Pluye, 2019).

2.1 Assess source of data and information that will support the aim of the project
The primary source will be the data that was gathered directly using surveys, interviews, or
focus groups, and the secondary source will be the data that was collected indirectly through
other means. Data obtained from secondary sources, which include research journal articles
and materials found on the internet, are secondary data.
Data Collection Plan: First and foremost, the data collection plan ensures that every single
member of the company's project team is on the same page regarding the data plan.
Additionally, it ensures that the data regarding successful teamwork and collaboration is
precisely communicated to the individuals within the organisation who provide for the
requirements of the data (Guo et al., 2019).
Piloting Data: The piloting of data collection is useful because it evolves the morality of
research based on the professional knowledge of other researchers working within the
discipline. As a result, it eliminates the possibility that fabricated work will be approved in
the area where the project is being carried out, which is a significant advantage. The data
from the pilot study provide insightful feedback for this dissertation because they allow to
evaluate and improve the study before submitting it.
Sample size- Both probability and non-probability sampling approaches will be used in the
data collection process for this project. Both approaches will be part of the sampling
technique. To implement the probability method, the researcher will first select a few criteria,

and then researcher will choose participants from among the various organisational teams.
Within the bounds of the selection criterion, everyone who is a part of the team will have an
equal opportunity to be included in the sample (Bougie and Sekaran, 2019). A technique
called non-probability sampling will collect data in a random fashion. There will not be a fair
distribution of opportunities among the participants in the sample.
Quality of Data: The ability to generalise results will serve to guarantee the accuracy of the
data collected for this project. The data will provide a generalisation of the feedback given by
the participants based on their level of performance. The data from the high-performing
teams as well as the non-performing teams will be combined to figure out how successful the
company is thanks to its collaborative efforts.
2.2 Synthesise the data and information for options or alternatives that support
the project aims
Qualitative data analysis: The analysis of the data in this study is performed using a method
known as quantifying qualitative data. Participant observation and the use of focus groups are
two methods that generate qualitative data. Finding patterns in people's conceptions of
collaboration and approaches to learning in groups can be facilitated through the use of a
qualitative research approach.
Quantitative data analysis: The analysis of the measurement model is part of the
confirmatory factor analysis that is included in the process of data analysis. This is the part of
the process where several factors, as well as the equivalent pointers, are detailed priority in
the process of maintaining the structure of the measures (Sherif, 2018). The characteristics of
the variables that make up the whole will be measured by interval scales. These
characteristics include things like organisational success and teamwork.
Methodological Triangulation: When it comes to determining the reliability of the data
obtained through qualitative research methods, the researcher will use a technique called
triangulation. A conclusion that has been triangulated is more reliable than a conclusion that
has been drawn from any one of the individual viewpoints from which it was triangulated.
The triangulation approach is illustrated in terms of method and finding through the use of
this study as an example. This study is an ethnographic study of the success that the Shell
Organization has had as a result of teamwork. It has been determined that the method of
triangulation is necessary in order to make the kinds of knowledgeable judgments that are
required of a qualitative researcher (Hosseini et al., 2018).

2.3. Critically evaluate an option or alternative that supports the project aims
Impact of data analysis – In this dissertation, data analysis entails a more comprehensive
method to record, analyse, disseminate, and present data findings for Shell Company in order
to determine how teamwork has enabled the organisation to be successful. This method was

Cost-benefit analysis – An analysis of costs and benefits can be utilised to determine how the
overall project will affect both the quantity and the amount of money. Providing, of course,
that the data analysis is unable to back up the hypothesis. The key to conducting a successful
cost-benefit analysis is convincing the copywriter to openly and methodically consider all of
the factors that are likely to have an effect on the project's strategic choice (Foster, 2020).

3.1 Critically evaluate the research analysis to enable conclusions to be made
In order to make conclusions, it necessitates looking for new materials and articles that cover
more about Shell Company. This faced the barrier of probable deviation from the related
background in which they initially came from. Consequently, this search was limited to
features connected to company performances as well as a major development that can,
directly or indirectly, have influenced the performance teams of the Shell Company. For
instance, a branch of Shell Company in India needed to hire the best talent, such as well-
known skilled experts, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) graduates, but offer no job
safety. Such greatest talents are terminated at any period without any rational reason (Hill,
Jones, & Schilling, 2014). For example, one of the firms in India has hired fresh IIT

long-term strategic goal. Managers and team leaders must keep in mind what they need to
achieve overall. And hence, to control the teams in such a way that either they are working on
long projects or short it’s all adding up to the final goal.
In the case of Shell, the main objective of the company is to provide good quality chemicals.
To achieve this there must be a proper direct and control system of the staff working at the
stores from the top management to the staff working on the floor. A good communication and
understanding will always lead to easy achievement of goals, satisfying the customer at the
end. Mangers are supposed to consider the demand and supply of the products to make sure
every product is available on time and then work should be allocated to the subordinates in a
proper system to get all the work done systematically and easily.
3.2 Recommended a course of action that achieves the strategic aims of the
project
A potential worker at Shell should be treated with fairness and transparency by the company
regarding the Shell's hidden policies when it comes to reapplying for a new occupation within
Shell after a period during which the worker did not advance, so that the potential worker is
able to make an informed decision regarding whether or not to join the company. The
business and organization of the Shell Company are expected to keep track of the principles
according to the standards of the organizational management system and therefore tied to the
employment commitment aspects. This strategy is comparable to one that utilises a voluntary
code of conduct and is implemented in situations in which a company is not adequately
embedded within the Shell Group or the local settings.
3.3 Critically analyse the impact of the recommendations
When the outcomes on the level of recommendation are contrasted throughout Shell
Headquarters and subordinate level, a similar common pattern appears that approves that the

its own ethical trade team that focuses on training and intensive problem solving with its
suppliers. These individuals are trained to the highest levels and are equipped to address
endemic problems in the supply chain and come up with viable solutions for the suppliers.

4.1 Evaluate the medium to be used to present the result of the project and its
contribution to strategic objectives
One of the methods that has been utilised throughout this project to analyse and evaluate the
results is teamwork, in addition to the performance of the organisation. According to the
findings of this project, the performance of an organisation is driven by the workers, and
because the company cannot achieve its goal without teamwork, the company cannot
succeed. By using the project reports for the sponsoring organisation as a medium, the
primary concerns will be to ensure that this project conveys the approved goals upon
organisational paybacks and acts as the representative of the company, playing a key
leadership role (Guarini et al., 2018).
The second document is the more detailed one, but it does not include any implementation.
This is the document that could be considered the most collective alternative (Higgins et al.,
2019). This document is typically responsible for introducing, ensuring, approving, and
developing several key features in connection with the project.

4.2 Take responsibility for the results of the investigative project and the
substantial changes and developments it brings about
The future sustainability of any organization heavily depends on the quality of project
management to be able to cope with today’s dynamic business environment. There is direct
co-relation between stakeholder business project and the people within the firm. The
sustainability of Shell competitive advantage of its brightest people is depending on the
successful teamwork and leadership. The best leaders know how to get others to follow, and
the best team members know how to follow their leaders.
The RACI chart, is a type of responsibility assignment matrix in project management. In
practice, it’s a simple spreadsheet or table that lists all stakeholders on a project and their
level involvement in each task, denoted with the letters R, A, C and I. Once these roles are
defined, assignments can be attributed to the roles and work can begin. R, A, C, I stand for
Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed.
The goal of the RACI model is to bring structure and clarity regarding the roles that
stakeholders play within a project. This responsibility assignment matrix instils confidence in
each responsible person because they know what they are doing— this type of stakeholder
engagement is crucial, according to a 2020 study by Wellington. In fact, it was ranked as the
highest-valued project management process. Mapping all their responsibilities out from the
beginning and sharing them is an excellent way to avoid miscalculations and blunders that
could cost you precious time and money. And of course, it will contribute to your overall
stakeholder engagement efforts.
4.3 Critically evaluate the impact and success of the investigative project
Evaluation relies on a combination of facts and values to judge the merit of an intervention
(Stufflebeam, 2001). Evaluative criteria specify the values that will be used in an evaluation
and, as such, help to set boundaries.
Many impact evaluations use the standard OECD-DAC criteria. The OECD DAC Network
on Development Evaluation has defined six evaluation criteria – relevance, coherence,
effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability.

 Relevance: The extent to which the objectives of an intervention are consistent with
recipients’ requirements, country needs, global priorities, and partners’ policies.
 Effectiveness: The extent to which the intervention’s objectives were achieved, or are
expected to be achieved, considering their relative importance.
 Efficiency: A measure of how economically resources/inputs (funds, expertise, time,
equipment, etc.) are converted into results.
 Impact: Positive and negative primary and secondary long-term effects produced by
the intervention, whether directly or indirectly, intended, or unintended.
 Sustainability: The continuation of benefits from the intervention after major
development assistance has ceased.
Conclusion
From the above information it can be concluded that this project made an effort to prepare a
management report for the Shell Company by describing a variety of different aspects. In
doing so, the paper discovered a variety of important insights that should be noted. One of the
problems that has been uncovered is the significance of teamwork in a workplace setting. The
expansion of any company's marketing efforts requires effective teamwork if the company is
to achieve the desired level of success. Another thing that is demonstrated in this paper is that
an organisation ought to work towards achieving the goal that it has set for itself. The
organization's aim, goal, and objective ought to be its primary motivators in order for it to be
the most successful. The findings of this paper were the basis for a recommendation that was
developed as part of the project to ensure that employees of an organisation put in their
maximum effort to ensure the success of the organisation. The hidden policies should be
shared with prospective employees in a fair and transparent manner.
