INTRODUCTION Leading andManaging is explained as the process of giving direction or vision to the group of people for the purpose of attaining the specific goal within the given time period. It is necessary in any of the organisation because it helps to provide necessary information to employees so that they can work in systematic manner. For this respective task, the chosen company is TESCO which is a multinational company performing its business activity in different part of the world. The company was commenced in the year 1919 by Jack Cohen. Various topics which will be discussed in this respective file will be related with human resource challenges being faced by the company and different planning process adopted by the company. In addition, this file will explain that how company is promoting staff welfare and in the ending section responsibilities will be explained which are required for developing own skills. MAIN BODY a. Identify the human resource challenges/obstacles facing your organisation. Human Resource Management is explained as the management process where major concern is related with hiring, motivating and even maintaining workforce within the company. HRM department plays the most significant role within the company as it is directly concern with giving training to the employees working within the premisses of a company (Iles, 2017). In context of TESCO Plc, they are one of the leading multinational business performing in different part ofthe world. HR department can play the crucial role in their success for long period of time but still their some of the challenges which are being faced by this respective organisation and they are explained below in detail: Compliances with Laws and Regulations:In present scenario, it is very necessary for business organisation to follow the legal compliances because they directly helps to take business decision on daily basis through which goals can be accomplished easily. While talking about TECSO Plc, their HRM team is unable to follow the rule and regulations which they need to follow and it has been creating lots of issues for them on regular basis. In addition, they are unable to adopt the political changes while expanding the business to new place. Adopting to Innovation:Everyday technologies changes on regular basis where it is necessary that company must adopt those changes for attaining the better result. In
context of TESCO Plc, their HR department is unable to adopt the changes which are required for the company to attain the success and it is becoming one of the major obstacles which company is facing in current situation. Recruiting Talented Employees:In any of the business organisation, it is necessary that deserving candidate should be selected for the company (10 of Today’s Common Human Resource Challenges, 2019). While talking about TESCO, HR team is being biased in number of cases due to which the deserving candidate are not being recruited. It is also one of the reason that company has to suffer at number of occasion as those selected candidate do not have the right skills and talent to tackle with problem. These are some of the obstacles which are being faced by the Human Resource Management of a company and it is necessary that company must try to come up with some of the changes if they want to sustain within the market for longer period of time. b. Identify the human resource planning process in your chosen organisation and how it meets organisation objectives. It is necessary for every business organisation that human resource department must do proper planning in a systematic manner before taking any of the decision. It can help them to accomplish the goals which company want to attain within the specific time period. Below, human resource planning process of TESCO has been explained. Determine the objective Of Human Resource Planning:The primary step which is needed to be followed by the HR department of TESCO is find out the objectives of company for which they are working. Analysing Current Manpower Inventory:Once objectives are prepared by the TESCO Plc, it becomes important for HR department to find manpower available in the company. They will required to determine about the manpower who have experience, skills and proficiency to achieve the target on given time period (Cowne and et. al., 2018). Forecasting Demand and Supply of Human Resources:The third step is to determine that demand required the employees to company and to check whether supply can be done or not with the help of available resources. All of this planning process will be helpful for the company to meet out its objective because it will help to employees that what they are required to do and what should not be done in any of the condition (Smits and Bowden, 2015). Even, there will higher possibility that HR department will not allow to incur unnecessary expenses of a company due to which profit margin will automatically increase. c. How is the organisation promoting staff welfare? It is necessary for each and every company that they must think about staff welfare because that allows employees to connect with business organisation for longer period of time. If in any of the situation company fails to do so then number of problem might arises which can lead to financial loss for the firm(Walker, 2018). By looking at this, TESCO Plc have been working since very long period of time so that their employees can be sustained for longer period of time. There are some of the organisation promoting staff welfare being followed in TESCO and they are explained below: In this respective stage, the HR team of TESCO Plc is giving suitable training to each and every employees so that working condition becomes easy for them to operate. They have made different incentives program for employees which allow employees to work more hardly to attain those target through which they can earn various types of incentives. HR department of a company has made the number of groups within the company where they will work together which allows to perform task in best possible manner and even communication process automatically improves in it.
Social activities are also one of the way which has been planned by the HR department of TESCO because it gives freedom to employees to make their mind stable towards the work(Ellis, 2018). d. How is the organisation currently developing their employees? In present scenario, it is necessary that employees must be developed systematically so that they can perform their task smoothly. The duty to develop any of the employees is in the hand of Human Resource Management because they confirms that how employees is going to perform for obtaining the goals of a company. In context of TESCO Plc, HR department has the huge role and responsibilities because that will allow them to determine that whether company will attain its desire outcomes or not. Some of the ways which they uses to develop their employees are explained below: Training and Development:It is one of the most essential thing which is needed to be delivered to the employees of a company because it will allow them to determine that how any of the work is needed to be done in specific manner. The HR department of TESCO manages each and every activity through which they can provide the suitable training to their employees. It is been one of the best way has been adopted by company to develop their employees. Measure Performance and Give Regular Feedback:Employee's can be easily judges on the basis of performance which they perform within the premisses of a company but after judging the performance feedback is necessary to be given so that improvement can be done (Hughes and et. al., 2019). While talking about TESCO Plc, their manage judge the performance of every individual and on that basis they give them necessary feedback so that they can easily enhance their performance for attaining the goals of a company. Delegation of task into group:It is crucial for every business organisation to divide the work on the basis of group as it will help to enhance the performance of every individual. In terms of TESCO Plc, they make number of teams where multiple number skills are available in employees due to which it becomes easy to complete any of the task on time and even it helps many employees to gain knowledge through which their skills can be enhanced. These are some of the practices which are being followed by the HR department of TESCO Plc through which performance of employees can be improved in best possible manner.
e. What are the individual’s responsibilities in developing their own skills? It is necessary for every individual that they must improve their skills by because that is only one of the way through which they can attain personal milestones. Whenever an of the individual carry multiple number of skills then they get the extra edge to get success in short time period. While enhancing the skill, it is necessary for any of the individual to find that what are their current skills and where they want to reach after certain period of time. Some of the responsibilities of individual for developing the own skills are explained below: Personal Development Plan:It is crucial for every individual to prepare personal development plan which helps individual to set the target(Ntui, 2017). This target will give them the idea that what are those essential things which are needed to be added on so that target can be achieved related to improving the skills. Reading Articles:It is also one of the way through which any of the individual can enhance their performance and skills. It is because they will get the chance to explore number of field and even they will get the option to take suitable decision afterwords. These are some of the ways which can be adopted by any of the individual for the purpose of enhancing their skills and knowledge.
