Corporate strategies and management practices affected by current VUCA environment:
CURRENT VUCA ENVIRONMENT AFTER COVID:
VUCA term is used to describe uncertainty of business world. World is changing
according to changes taking place in the external environment.
Volatility: This is characterised by unexpected and unstable event taken place in an
unknown duration. Volatility in the context of Covid 19 is that rapid increase in number of cases
occurred since the outbreak of virus and changes occur much more often than before. It require
continuous analysis and evaluation because it is unpredictable and fast.
Uncertainty: Despite having full knowledge about situation or event, the prediction
about future result may be appropriate (Sharma, and Singh, 2020). To understand the
complexity of Covid 19 government form task forces because no one can predict when the
pandemic will end and when government will have vaccination or cure.
Complexity: It refers to situation or event that has many interconnected components and
only some of the information is available regarding their interdependence (Troise, and et.al
2022). Pandemic is affecting all aspects such as health care, business, social life, economy in
such a complex way.
Ambiguity:Ambiguity does not mean lack of clarity but it describe a situation where
multiple interpretation are there. It refers to unclear relationship having no precedence available

as the situation have many unknowns so only little prediction about future to be available. There
is no best practice that company can follow to manage the challenges caused by covid19.
Corporate strategies and management practices in this environment:
Further Digitalisation: In many ways 2020 has marked a change in how digitalisation
impact business. Covid 19 crises reinforce need of co ordination , government policy approach
towards digitalisation. The virus outbreak creates adoption of contactless digital payment and
increase in digital payment volume across globe. Digitalisation proven very crucial in fulfilling
business transaction and for peer to peer transfer of fund. It is easily accessible and more people
and firms are going digital after crises as digital information gives rise to new goods and services
and it creates opportunities for markets.

because it benefit society and also address negative impact that might have on society. Decision
makers by using this practice can make more responsible decision as responsible business build
trust and strengthen its relationship with shareholders.
Resilient organisation: Before Covid 19 only few organisation thought about resilience,
after its impact organisation start thinking about resilient approach in business . Company need
to be more resilient in facing all the risk, not just pandemic as it involve determining uncertainty
with purpose to build a strategy for resilience. By using this approach organisation respond
productively to continuous changes, adversity and disruption.

organisation marketing strategies and allow greater personalisation.
Recent and current change supported by relevant change management theory:
MORRISON RECENT CHANGES: Morrison is the fourth largest chain of
supermarket in the United Kingdom founded in 1899 by William Morrison. Morrison is planning
a move that company will make zero wastage unto 2025. Organisation is participating in zero
wastage movement as it conserve resources and minimize pollution. Zero waste promotes social
equity and build a good community and it also benefit economy as it supports local circular
economy and more job opportunity to be created by zero wastage . Zero wastage supports
sustainability as it protect environment and reduce cost by producing various jobs .By optimum
utilisation of resources organisation save money and progress faster in the economy.
Change management theory: Change management drives successful adoption of
change in the organisation. By this employees understand and commit towards organisation as
they work effectively during change process. It creates a sense of urgency to motivate people
towards change because without organisation change management company transitions become
very expensive in terms of time and resources.
Increased urgency: Urgency means what needs to be done immediately without being
asked and in most possible manner to create change (Hussain, and et.al 2018). Employees in the
company must develop feeling that upcoming change is essential and it is beneficial for them as
well as for company. The objective behind this is to motivate and develop interest among
employees to support change. An organisation create urgency by identifying threats and their
effects on the company and how company can cope up with this in future. Organisation examine
various opportunities available so that threat can be reduced to some extent.
Build guiding team: This can be achieved by identifying the changes that leader take in
the organisation with the support of stakeholders. Organisation bring involvement of all of these
in the entire process to form a powerful change in the company. By identifying weak areas of
team organisation can ensure that people from various department work together this will bring
efficiency in the business.

strategies . A clear and achievable vision help people to understand why organisation is asking

so that people working in the organisation can easily understand it and also follow that.
Communicating the vision: Changes can be achieved by communicating vision with the
people working in the organisation by convincing them that changes is good for organisation as
well as for them. Company connect the vision with all aspects like training and development
program, performance reviews etc. so that employees feel that their goals can be aligned with
achieving the vision.
Removing obstacles: This can be achieved by aligning organisation process and
structure with overall organisation vision (Stouten, Rousseau, and De Cremer, 2018). Company
can establish changes by continuously check on barriers and check on people who is resisting
change . By implementing proactive changes organisation can remove obstacle in the process of
change. Company can also reward people so that they get motivated and support in the change
management process.
Creating short term wins: Company can create various short term target instead of long
term goal that organisation can achieve with minimum wastage and lesser possibility of failure
(Chernyak-Hai, and Rabenu, 2018). By creating short term, wins and by rewarding the
contribution of people company can give the feel of victory to people in the early stage of
change.
Consolidating gains: Organisation can achieve continuous improvement by analysing
success stories of employees that how they involved previously in the changes process and
how this affect them in a positive manner. Change bring operational efficiency and also save
money.

successful stories related to change initiatives. Changes is integral part of management and
organisation culture so it is necessary to bring changes in the organisation . Organisation also
ensure that support of existing as well as new leaders in the change is essential by pointing the

Recommendation for supporting business activities:
All businesses suffered due to Covid 19 outbreak as to support changes and bring
efficiency in the organisation following are recommended ways:
ï‚· It is to be recommended that company should not sell the product that is irrelevant
to customer instead of it company should make efforts in providing the product
according to customer need. Company need to revaluate their offering because
irrelevant product create so much wastage that is not good for company growth.
Company should offer longer customer service hours this will help in creating trust
with the organisation that company will continue to provide its services in an
uncertain situations also.
ï‚· Organisation should create more channels to increase online support as company
should provide services on social media, websites etc. This will create flexibility and
transparency in business and it will be more convenient for consumers to find
product on the online platform. Organisation should continuous make changes in its
internal affairs so that performance to be improved. It is also recommended that
leaders should continuous monitor, measure the performance of employees so that
they will not resist to change and adapt changes effectively.
ï‚· It is recommended that organisation should engage with customers because it is very
crucial that company continuous to communicate with large audience (Guo, and
et.al 2018). By opening up a communication channel organisation can know what

changes customers like to see in business and they can respond to their feedback
also.
ï‚· Company should plan ahead for all the crises so that business will not suffer huge
losses after Covid 19. There is no better time than present to start planning so
company should make effort on that because it is impossible to plan with specific
date (Mao, and et.al 2019). Company should be in sympathetic ton because
customers also experienced hardship at the time of Covid 19. This will create an
image of the company in front of consumers and they will develop faith with
organisation and its policies.
ï‚· Company should focus on making marketing strategy and remove anything
irrelevant and inappropriate because it is very essential for growth of business (13
Types of Change of Management Models You Should Know, 2022). Organisation
should look through all the scheduled campaigns, social media post and email
marketing to determine what needs to be remove or change. Company should
improve page and site load speed so that it would be easy for customers to navigate
store and find the product of customers choice .
ï‚· It is advisable that business should appear on search engine because customers
search for products and services. If a company is having online presence it would be
much more beneficial for firm to gain competitive advantage as more people
purchase product and do shopping online.
Personal strengths and weakness working in a team
I have worked with a various group members and find out what are my strengths,
Weakness, Opportunity, Threats. They are as under-
Strengths- While working in a team I have found that my communication skills is very
good as I effectively communicate with the team members. This helps me to work better in a
team and overall I fulfil the team goals. In addition to that it helped me to avoid confusion
related to work (Huber and et.al., 2020). My listening skills is also good as I effectively listen
every member of a group it also increases my knowledge. I take other people opinions and then
work accordingly to achieve the team goals.
Weakness- While working in a team I have found that sometimes I am close minded like
I don't consider the view points of others. It has negatively impact on my performance as I don't

get new ideas and opinions from the team members of group. It further impacted on achieving
the group goals (O’Donovan, 2019). Blaming team members is my another weakness I have
found while working in a group as whenever task is not completed I always blame the group
members. Many times they are not responsible for the work that has not been done but I
blame them.
Opportunities-
While working in a team I have found that it will help me in building better relation with
team members. It will also improve my coordination while working with the team members and
also enhances my problem solving skills (Ruch and et.al., 2021). Whenever any problem arises
in the work other team members shares their opinions on it and I get more ideas which help me
to know how to solve complex problems.
Threats- I have faced some threats like team members don't like each other so many
times they don't properly communicates with me. With this goals of team are unachieved as
group members doesn't respect the other team members. Improper coordination among us affects
the organization as well group goals as it reduces the team performance and hinders in achieving
goals.
Recommendations for self Improvement
ï‚· It is recommended that I must improve my communication skills more as many times
i am not be able to communicate with the team members in a group. It negatively
impacts on my work as i don't know what to do in a new project and it decreases my
productivity in the team work.
ï‚· It is recommended that I have to improve my listening skills as many times I don't
listen to ideas, and opinions of the team members. Listening skills will help in
getting the different views of the group members helps me to work better. Further, in
case of issues it will help me to get multiple solutions of the problem by coordinating
with them which will improves my team work. Besides this, it will also help me in
overcoming the challenges I am facing in a new work that is assigned to me and in a
group task.
