Game design INTRODUCTION Academic misconduct refers to the process in which the student attempt to perform unfair actions in the university. The misconduct performed by student impacts the academic integrity of the university, this is done to gain an academic advantage by performing act such as collusion, plagiarism and contract cheating. To avoid these academic misconducts such as plagiarism, a game is developed below. Design a game Plagiarism is one of the activities that is conducted by the students of the university in their academic writing. To educate the students about the concept and further make the student to avoid usage of any kind of these misconduct, a game named ‘Learn Plag’ is developed so that the students can learn about different types of plagiarisms and further avoid the usage of these in their academic writing. Structure and model of ‘Learn Plag’: The game is majorly divided into three sections in which the one section is dedicated towards the learning part whereas the other part is focused on a quiz game based on the learning part. The third section is based on the scores that the candidates who have registered on the game scores while playing the quiz game. The scoring is based on the point system where each right consecutive answer gets rewarded with 1 point. Instructions to play ‘Learn Plag’: •In order to get access to the gaming material the candidate is required to put in the credentials of their account. At first they are required to create an account in which they are required to put in the personal information. This information will be kept private and confidential with the usage of best data security tools. •The login page takes the candidate to a page in which there are several options such as learning, quizzes and scores. •The learning sessions consists of videos and reading material through which the candidate will learn about the different types of plagiarism and their usage in academic writing. This learning sessions contains the content of almost an hour in which all the essential information is covered. •Once the student has learnt, they can further play the quiz in which the candidate will be asked questions that are based on the learning given in the previous option in the game. •There is a score which is based on the streak that the candidate is able to maintain while answering all the questions right. •There are hundreds of questions in the AI of game which gives more and more variety to the candidates in term of content. Importance of academic integrity Academic integrity is essential in the university and the students are required to maintain this, Academic integrity is based on five pillar. Conclusion From the above discussion it can be concluded that academic misconduct is one of the common thing and these activities need to be stopped in the university as it impacts the personality of the student and the general decorum of the institution is also impacted. Developing a game can help the students in learning about the concept of academic misconduct and integrity. This will ensurethatthestudents don’t further conductthese activities in their piece of academic writing.
