Introduction
Legal system is known as a process which interpretates and enforces the law. It describes the
laws and rights in an different way. Business law is known as the essential part of the legal
system which helps in expanding and establishing the business worldwide and in an most
effective manner. As there are different laws according to the different countries and it has to
be followed by the organization in order to adapt the new situation in the industry. Legal
system is also known as the legislation which helps the business operations easier and helps
them to achieve there aim and objective in an efficient form. This report is divided into three
parts in the first part legal system of UK has been elaborated in which criminal and civil laws
are covered with different courts which are involved in it. In the second part source of law is
been describes and in the last part employment law is described.

Define laws and identify the respective legal systems in UK
Laws can be defines as the rules which are created to deal various issues which are existing in
the country or facing with the society. These are the rules which are based on the legislations
and it is enforced by an regiment institution by regulating behaviours of each employee
existing in an organisation. In other words it can be explained as these laws further divided in
to two laws that are civil laws and criminal laws(Bellace, and Ter Haar, 2019). Thee laws are
also comes under legal system and focuses on the employees rights and requirements. These
laws are important to consider as some practices can harm the organisational structure. This
law is for the justice to the employees in an organisation. There are various types of laws
which helps in controlling the harmful activities and saves the organisation from getting an
negative impact.
In UK legal system there are various kinds of laws which are existed and are formed by
passing an legislation in parliament. There are also some principles which are imposed by
common laws and it also allows the court in modifying the legislation which is not serving
justice in an effective and efficient manner(de Bruin, 2022). The legal system of UK is consist
with mainly three organs which are judiciary, legislative and executive. These organs come
together in order to form an law and when it get executed it serves the justice to the society
and protects the constitutional within in any particular country. Laws which are imposed in
an legal system of UK has started developing modern laws which will help in re shaping the
legal system of UK.

classification of laws in the English legal system.
In an English legal system there are mainly two laws which is described below:
Civil law
Civil law is used mainly when any individual is involved and suffering with an issue and
justice is need to be justified. This law focuses on the civil legislation which is considered
important in oder to deal with the civil wrong happened by the individual of an society. This
law can also be defined as an comprehensive system which are made up with an rules and
regulations that provides an arrangement to provide accessibility to the jurists and citizens.
Civil law is used to develop an legal structure which makes an legislation more efficiently
and effectively. There are various different aspects under civil laws which deals in general
clauses and helps in making changes in an organisation. This law basically deals with an
issues of an individual needs and helps them with the justice(Boyd, Brian, and Kane, 2018).
This law mainly focuses on the civil property and civil disputes. In this law there is civil
procedure code which helps in developing an proper structure and process in an organisation.

Therefore this considered important in an legal system of UK as they protects the right of
individual.
For example: During COVID one organisation was selling untested products which were
causing disease and injury to the customers. So the customers come together are sue that
medical company under civil law for negligence as this had given justice to the customer
fight for their rights in an effective manner. After that the licence of medical company has
sued and they also posted an video for apologizing regarding the mishappenning of the wrong
and duplicated products.
Criminal law
These are the laws which deals the issue in large society base. In this law the criminal
activities which is performed in the society has been handled. Criminal laws are considered
as those laws which involves all the criminal and offensive activities which is done in society
or an organisation. This law also involves the imprisonment and forfeiting of individuals
rights. Criminal law is also differentiated into two parts that are felonies and misdemeanour.
Misdemeanour is considered as the lower level of criminal offence which involves minor
assaults, petty thefts and traffic offence(Gürkaynak, and Kama, 2018). In these kind of offence
the punishment is one year of less. Felony criminal offence is considered as an serious
offence which involves murder, arson, manslaughter and dealing with drugs. These offences
has the punishment of one year or more than one year. This law is also considered as the
major part of English legal system in UK and has many legislations according the offense
placed.
For example: There was a company in UK which was well known for motorcycle club and
has there goodwill in the market and large customer base. That company was an criminal
enterprise as they tried to protects the symbols and has stopped other people in the group to
make money (Business,2022). This was expanded and after considering as an criminal
enterprise each branch has been closed and their hierarchy come under the criminal offence
law. There are many such activities which are following around the world and all can not be
identified that it is criminal offence or they are doing with the right practices.
Explain the role of the following courts in the English legal
system
English legal system of UK involves judiciary which involves various courts and from which
the two courts are described below.
High court
This court is considered as the second important court which is established in judicial system
of UK. This is important as they deal the case which has transferred from the lower court. In
high court there are various functions which guides the lower court about the laws and
policies which can be used at an extent level. This court also develops an structure by which

criminal law and civil law can be deal more effectively(Sheehy, 2022). This court also has the
power as they can reject the judgement of lower court and can give there new and justified
statement. This court also records all the judgement which is decided by the lower courts as it
helps in better decision making. This court never get biased and always maintained with an
existing legal system of UK.
Supreme court
This court helps an individual to protect there fundamental rights and also helps in protecting
the constitution. This court play an crucial role in the constitution system of Uk as it is known
as the highest court and also the last court by where any individual could get an justice with
there evidence. This court also protects the civil liberties and the rights by striking the laws
down that can violate the constitution. This court is composed with thirty judges in which one
is the chief justice and other thirty judges(Hiller, and Shackelford, 2018). This court is also
responsible for managing the common laws and their principles which allows justice in an
more efficient and effective manner. In this court also the recorded issues and statements are
transferred from the lower and high court. Any law which is imposed by the supreme court
can be stopped by the government if it violates any of the natural law and justice principles.

Case law is considered most of the important source as it is used to form an law in an more
effective way. These laws which focus on the rare cases and later it becomes an important
aspect to consider and it used In protecting justice in UK(Herawati, 2018). These sources of
laws which are case laws creates a relevant landmark. These case laws are developed by
analysing a particular situation in considering various situations to resolve the issues in the
legal structure. These cases also develop the reports with reference for the future
requirements. As case law is derived from an decision which is issued by an judge for the
cases which are before in the court(Harper Ho, 2018). This law helps to solve the legal issues
which is not resolved by an normal legislation. These laws possess an important role in
making laws in UK and they drive upon the basic principle of common law. This law has
basically formed by analysing the facts and aspects which are present in court in order to get
justice.
Explain the process of making Legislation
Legislation is known as the law which is made in parliament and it is also known as act of
parliament and broadly known as a statutory law(Jebe, 2019). It formulates the new legislation
and also amends the existing legislation. The implementation of legislation left to an entity
either private or public. The process of legislation is done in various steps in which firstly bill
of congress has been introduced then bill is accepted, rejected or amended by the member of
committee(Favarel-Garrigues, 2020). Then the bill is reported to house or senate then an
structured debate is done about the bill after that it the majority want to pass the bill then the
bill get passed after that it went for the president approval and this took around 10 days to
pass the bill and the law come into the legislation process.

understandable by an example in the officers which forms the law to delegate power and

Employment law is used for dealing with the various issues and the problems faced by the
employees in the organisation. These are the laws where employees face some legal issues
and that can be solved by legal perspectives. The issues which an employee can face in the
organisation are discrimination and infringement of right. These issues can be solved by an
equality act and employment act(Gaitán, Herrera-Echeverri, and Pablo, 2018). These are the act
which is to solve the issues and to make the working environment better in an effective
manner. The employees face the issue related to salary and these acts gives the employees job
satisfaction. This law allows rights and justice to the employees working in an organisation.
