INTRODUCTIONTASK 11.1 Legal and non-legal sources of informationIn order to research in the field of legal genre, there are generally two sources, primaryand secondary. Primary sources are certainly, the statutes, ordinance, notifications, precedentsby judges and lot more. These sources are actually evident and can be look upon to initiate aslegal research. There are three sources of laws in UK, the European law, the Parliament and theCourt. (Abel, R.L. ed., 2014) The secondary source of a legal research are the views and research made by the juristsregarding the primary source of law. It can be presumed that it is an extensive research ofprimary sources. Every source which is not related to the primary one is known as secondarysource.1.2 Location of sources of informationThe legal sources of information, are such, which can be use for the extensive legalresearch, also to evaluate any case or law which has to be enforced upon the public. Generally, the location of such sources can be found in constitution, statutes, Acts, parliamentaryconventions and general customs. And in the context of UK legal system, the location of thelegal information lies in the statues and constitution of the country, although it is not a codifiedone but the essence of laws can be taken from the statutes and Act of Parliament.(Steele, D. et, al.,2012)1.3 Relevance of such sourcesThe primary sources of legal research is so evident that it can be use to evaluate theextensive research of law. Actually these sources are use to form various statutes and also areason to amen the existing law. United Kingdom is an amalgam of monarch and democracy, and there exists no codified constitution. So, relevancy of the sources are only according to thelaws and Acts of Parliament which has been enforced by the government.(Ward, R., 2011)3
