INTRODUCTION
Legislation is the general law which is lays the framework that governs the travel
agencies, travel organisation and airports. That are includes the environment protection, health
and safety, employees rights, planning and consumer protection law (Font and McCabe, 2017).
The UK government is always recognised importance of tourism to the economy and introduced
new policies and laws over. Present study is based on “the titan travel” which offers the biggest
range of tours with over 400 expertly plan visiting almost 100 countries. The present study lays
emphasis on legal and regulatory framework of the travel and tourism and discussion on surface,
sea and transport law in relation. It will show the impact of principles of healthy and safety
legislation. Report will highlight the contract of legislation in relation tour and travel and
explanation of consumer protection law. It is also highlighted by the ethical dilemmas faced by
this and CSR policy of specified travel and tourism business.

TASK 1
1.1. The legals and regulatory framework of the English legal system.
English low refers the legal system of administration by the court. This help to understant
the nature of laws are affected. It involves the sellers, suppliers, business organisation and
consumers. The legislation is the factor which is impact to each other and its services or
operation of the titan travel. It is governing the rules of decision making the regulatory
framework. The tourism legislation and regulatory framework are as follows:
Development of tourism act 1969
This act is provide the establishment of authority with the responsibility for promoting
the development of this sector and for development of the tour and travel sector (Coccossis,
2017). This provide for the giving of financial assistance out of the public funds for the
provision. By this the titan travel is able to promote and undertake the research and development
process.
Transport act 1980 and 1985
This introduced deregulation of coach services for to the business sector. By that, the
titan travel has the great advancement for tourist as well the clients. This occurs for deciding to
remove restrictions form the operations of business.
Package travel, holidays and tours regulations 1992
This legislation lays down rules of tour operators and holiday companies are must
follows rules for find the booking terms and conditions. According to this act, the titan travel is
responsible for making sure its suppliers perform their obligations properly (Ganguli and

and tour sector are operators have duty to serves the travelling public safely, fairly and efficently.
Surface, sea and air transport are presents the effective and important role play in the every tour
and travel company and also to the titan travel organisation. There roles are paying attention and
internation convention following the liability to pay for the loss of carriage and person suffering
the loss establish the carrier liability (Bushell, 2016). The surface, sea and air transport play an

passengers (Vargas-Sánchez and Moutinho, 2018). According to this act the titan travel provide

checking of luggage at the beginning and ending of journey. The aim of this law is to provide

titan travel and company provide all the security and safety rights to their passengers.

2.1. The impact of the principles of health, Safety and security legislation on travel and toursim
sector.
The aim of legislation is to regulate development to tourism by introducing practices of
this by determines rights and obligations of the persons involved in this industry and Hilton
hotel. (Jamal, 2019). This governs possible hazards and set the responsibilities of their staff
members and employees. They are responsible for checking hazards and minimise the risk of
accidents. Employer and employees of Hilton hotel plays an important role for maintaining the
safety of organisation. This law helps to maintain and make effective and healthy working
environment.
It is the important and legal requirement of Hilton hotel and its duty of the company to
keep safe their guests and passengers. For that management can take some precautions such as;
 Remove risk and obstructions of guests.
 Management have ensured about their electronic appliances are safe for uses.
 Considers all the requirements and needs of guest and try to provide and set all thinks
according to the health, safety and security requirements of customers.
That all precautions are help to Hilton hotel for make effective and safe working environment to
their employees and safe security for their guests of hotels. By this, management is able to
provide the safe accommodation and such other services. With setting duties and responsibilities
of destination authorities employees.
The health and safety law is keep the law under review and initiates research (Higham
and et.al., 2016). Like when situation is arises for that have options are as follows:
 Guidance makes aware to peoples from legislation and help to comply as well. To
provide technical guidance with respect to the provision from legislation.
 Approved codes of practice structure of legal standing. It is the set out the codes for
material and working practices of employer liabilities on the ground of breach the healthy

and safety law. The major duties of Hilton hotel employers in approved code of practices
are heating and lighting, first aid provision and accident prone work environment. Other
hand duties of employees are prevent accidents, report potential and attend proper and
effective training sessions which is organised by Hilton hotel.
 Regulation is the responsibility of employers and it provides the safeguard security
according to the health and safety act. This act said that, provide effective and valuable
training to their employees for their job roles.

Legislations which are related to the equality act are as follows:
Equality act
Equality act is provide the safe and same treatments to their employees and any person or
customers (Battaglia, 2017). This acts are protect peoples from any discriminations, harassments.
This provide a legal framework to protect the rights of individual and advance equality of
opportunity. This regulate the equal treatment to peoples and employees. This act is help to give
the equal rights to their customers according the religions, gender and from the country. This
says the equal treatment of the citizens and employees.
Employment rights act
Employment rights act say provide same rights to their employees according to their
work and performance. This help to provide proper rights to their employees. Employees have
basic privilege at Hilton hotel. This includes fair compensation, freedom, leaves and training and
development studies. For example; employees want leave for their personnel work in this case
management have to give paid leaves to their employees. It is the privilege of employees.
Sex discrimination act
This act says provide same treatments to their employees according to the sex, religions
and genders. Hilton hotel protected the interests of men and women from the discrimination on
the ground of sex and concerned with harassment and may misbehave with their woman and men
employees (Moutinho and Vargas-Sanchez, 2018). According to this act, Hilton hotel provide
the effective and valuable treatments to their employees and they are not done any partiality with
them. Management is follows this then employees are trust to management.

breaches. It makes the liability or its enforcement subjects to restrictive conditions. For example;
if any customer cancel any contract and any booking of journey then in this case, company and
management is requires notification and information within the time. It is effective and valuable
policies for manage this vacant contract (Font and McCabe, 2017).
Unfair terms in consumer contract regulation 1999
This replaced an earlier version of the similar regulations and overlaps consideration with
the unfair contract term. It is required for good faith and management. It provides the effective
and valuable changes for protection and against unfair treatments.
Sale of goods act 1979
This act regulates sales of goods that are purchase and sales at in the UK. For the contract
is binding between both parties (Featurs of legislation, 2017). It is consolidated the law relating
to the sale of goods and services. For example; second hand or use goods are reduced the level of
exceptions and satisfaction. In this case Hilton hotel have to provide the effective and valuable
services to their guests and customers.
Supply of goods and services act 1982
The supply of goods and services act is refers and considers the provides the proper and
effective services to their customers which are related to the goods and services. For example: if
customers wants right and extra services which are regarding to goods and travel. In this case,
Hilton hotel have to provide the best and effective services to their customers. It is help to make
strong trust of customers at company and it management operation or services.
The consumer rights act 2015
This act consolidates the existing consumer protection law legislation. It is help for
providing the effective and protected rights to their consumers (Higham and et.al., 2016). For
example: consumers are want the best and effective quality of goods and services of their setting

arrangement at the buses and trains. In this case management have to provide the best quality of
goods. Its privilege of customers and guests.
3.2. Presenting the consumer protection legislation relation to travel and tourism customers
The consumer protection Law's main aim is to protect the rights of the customer from
being violated through a travel agent. Apart from this, The Trade Description Act, 1968 also
protect the false and misleading indicator of price of goods and services. It also set out the
responsibility of trading standard officers (Crompton and McKay, 2018).
Moreover, the consumer protection act, 1987 also lays down the rights of consumer and
also states that it is the duty of a manufacturer to mention all the necessary information for a
product and also make a provision for the issues such as fraud, unfair business practices etc. This
law also aids in establishing product liability and legal authority, also prohibit unlawful price
indications. Apart from this, these legislations are clubbed into one and called Consumer
Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (CPR) whose aim is to:
 Legitimacy of all prices and service charges and make sure that the price of rooms are
economical.
 The law also provides other information such as preference of routes, necessary items
required by the tourist, VIP treatment etc.
 Charges of mini bars, price disclosure at bars etc.
In addition to this, the Package Travel Regulation, 1992 also makes sure that the
miscommunication shall be corrected by service provider. For making a valid contract, should
includes some basic facility such as accommodation, transport and other tourist services in their
holiday contract because it has been analysed that this will lead to create positive impression
upon the tourist (Malone, McCabe and Smith, 2018). Beside this, if is provided an air travels
then it also requires the Aviation Travel Organizer's license in which the consumer should be
protected by Insurance, bonding and Trade account. It may also be modified through authentic
information and holidays features and moreover to provide the set of standardized by the laws as
well.

4.1 Analyse instances of ethical dilemmas which their Corporation could face and how to deal
with those dilemmas
Travel and Tourism sector is one of the best earning industry among all and it also
provides its share for the growth of the economy of the country but on the other side, it also faces
some ethical dilemmas as well (Richter and Richter, 2019). Therefore, different studies
highlighted the ethical dilemmas that is faced by the travel and tourism sector and one of them is
Cross- cultural dilemmas. Beside this, the political climate also affect the travel and tourism
sector and this is considered one of the biggest ethical dilemma which an industry faces. It has
been analysed that the instability of the government and dysfunctional government creates
negative impact upon tourism activity. For instance, Russia and Syria are those place that are
always under the political warfare and not able to attract tourist even. The travel sector is
responsible for the build the holidays homes in the island. For that they can make the effective
and valuable changes for that.
In addition to this, other dilemmas which the industry faces are bribery, corruption, racial
discrimination, harming natural resources and selling unhealthy food as well at the times of
planning of holidays at home. While on the other side, corruption is the misuse of an authority
for a personal motive and thus it leads to further criminal activities as well. Apart from this, the
social and cultural factors also affect the industry In negative way such that some economically
challenged countries are also means to attract tourist in easy way and their last minute
documentation also helps to create better experience in their visit (Gmelch and Kaul, 2018). But
in the other side, countries such UK are bound by the strict tourism regulation and they required
lots of documentation and paper work for completing and submitting in advance of a visit.
Moreover, child trafficking, molestation are some common aspect that is also considered illegal
and ethical dilemmas for Travel and tourist industry.
4.2 Corporate Social Responsibility of The Titan Travel
Corporate Social Responsibility mainly refers to the social strategy that is adopted by the
business to share in the community and it also refers to the activities such as environmental
protection, equal opportunity and practising for the sustainable development. CSR main aim is to
careful use of social, cultural and environmental sources in order to avoid the wastage and also

conserve the biodiversity and some cultural heritage (Chi, Zhang and Liu 2019). Beside this, the
quoted firm also work for the employee engagement and by using their consumers campaigning
they also promote the greener environment. Further, The Titan Travel also work for the
promoting charity and raising funds so that they provide their share for the welfare of a society
of a community as well issues are creates the problems with the planning of the holidays and but
also help to maintain the business at proper manner.
The company Corporate Social Responsibility also includes protecting the endangered
wildlife, promoting the social and cultural values and also provides the fair economical rates to
their customers as well. They also provide education to the girls and provide them scholarship in
order to promote education among girls. The quoted firm also believes that CSR begins with
employees and that is why it also ensures that harmony, peace should be maintained at
workplace and it also made different efforts to engage the employees in programs that are
designed to fulfil the ecological responsibility (Supanti and Butcher, 2019). For Titan Travel, the
CSR is more than a philanthropy and it is the internal process that reflect the soul of the company
as well. Apart from this, Titan Travel also provides the best working and safety practices to their
employees and apart from this, it also develops a separate cod of conduct in order to promote
their all activities to contribute for the welfare of a community. This shows that the Corporate
Social Responsibility of Titan Travel is not made for earning profit but also provides work for
the welfare of the society as well.

From the above study, it has been concluded that the legislation has impact to the tour
and travel sector and that has important for organisation to maintain discipline at the
organisation. Legal framework of this sector has been helped for gaining the goals. The prime
agenda of the health and safety legislation has safeguard accommodation services of their
destinations. The consumer protection has important part of every sector and industry. By these
customers has felt protected from the services of the tour and travel sector. For that management
has provided the best services to their customers and ethical dilemmas faced by company. This
influenced to decision making process and make changes in this. Corporate social responsibility
has important for management because it has the one policy by which customers attracted
towards the company and its helped for achieved goals.
