INTRODUCTION
Legislation are basically the statuary laws established by some overnight body to regulate
the fairness and ethical in state or organization. There are various legislation that dominates the
travel and tourism industry and enable them to work towards the interest of their stakeholders.
The various acts and laws help this industry to protect the rights of customers and thus help the
organization to make sound decisions.
This report addresses legal as well as regulatory framework in travel and tourism sector,
sea and air transport laws, impact of health, safety and security on travel and tourism industry,
analysis of legislation, contract legislation in travel and tourism, consumer protection legislation,
ethical dilemmas encountered by travel and tourism industry and CSR in travel and tourism
business.

1.1 Legal and regulatory framework in travel and tourism and various laws relation to carriage
passenger within regulatory frameworks.
There are several Laws and legal
legislation which are important
to consider in the tourism sector
that maintains dignity and entity
of the tourism sector. There are
many legal rights and
regulations which needs to
followed which safeguards the
traveling concerns and provide a
safer traveling for travelers.
There are many laws which
governs different travel
agencies, airports, railways and
transport organization. It has
changes various environmental
Strategic Rail Authority(SRA)
SRA is basically a non-
governmental organization of UK
which is basically set up under the
Transportation Act 2000 with the
aim to provide a strategic
direction to the Railway Industry.
Its main aim was “British railway,
properly delivered” it was

2006 and its functionality is

transport. Their function was to

Association(IATA)
This is basically the trade
associations in worlds airlines
which consists of approximately
290 airlines of the world which
are members IATA.
Headquarters of IATA is in
government and the private sector
operators to provide a certain
level of service in return of
subsidies.
Carriage of Passenger by Road
Act 1974
This act was developed in
year 1974, with the aim to
develop the road safety act for the
safety and security of the travelers
traveling through roads, and the
security of the luggage. It consists
of various responsibilities
concerned with the passengers.
These laws focus towards the laws
and legal rights and services
offered with the theft, robbery,
accident and deaths which are
stated under this act. This aims to
provide safety and security to the
people traveling in various parts
of UK (Goworowska and Smith,
2016).
This organization works
for the welfare of the
workers, looking for
health, security and
safety of workers within
workplace. It prevents
and secures employees
which are suffering for
various work related
problems. This is a non
department organization
being sponsored by
department of work and
pensions.
Sea and Air Transport
Laws(SATL)
Sea and air
transport law are for the
right of passengers
included within
regulation number
1177/2010. this was
build to aim to provide a
better facility to the
disables who enjoys a
fair transport services.
They an travel anywhere
within UK. They are
provided with better
facility, minimum fares
