1. Closed Compound Words. Closed compound words are those words which are composed of two
words that do not have any space between them. Such as Sunflower, Moonlight comes under closed
compound words.
2. Open compound words. Open compound words are those words which has a small space between the
two words. Words such as Full Moon, ice crème, table fan, police officer comes under open compound
words.
3. Hyphenated Compound Word. Hyphenated Compound words are those words which has a small das
between the two words. Words such as one-half, full-time, warm-up, x-ray all comes under the
Hyphenated compound words.
Success Criteria:
1. The success criteria depend on how well and clearly the teacher has explained the concept of
compound words to the students.
2. How innovate and creative was the teacher in his or her way of teaching.
3. How well was the teacher able to connect the concept of compound words with other the lessons.

Answers:
1. The following lesson plan will achieve the required learning objectives as it involves using creative and
innovative ways to engage the students who are basically children. The students were actively taking part
in the fun activities which does not make learning fun and easy but also help hen to bond with one
another and make new friends.
2. The use of different picture cards along with the introduction of the different fun activities has really
worked with the students. If my next lesson requires the same innovative and interactive teaching
methods, I would definitely keep up with the same teaching techniques.
3. There was a time constrain. If only more time could be provided for the fun activities.
4. Overall it was fun and enriching experience to be working with the children. It was my first time working
with them.
